What you can expect
Open since 1982, this sprawling exhibition space showcases ships, planes, and space shuttles that highlight some of the country's greatest maritime and aviation achievements.
Skip the long line and head under the decks of the aircraft carrier, Intrepid, to see the control rooms, bunks, and galleries where the crew worked and slept. See more than 20 perfectly preserved aircraft on the flight deck above, admire the sleek lines of the record-breaking Concorde jet nearby, and scope out the periscope on Growler, a guided missile submarine.
Inside, examine artefacts from NASA's space programmes, and take an up-close look at the Enterprise, which made multiple orbital flights throughout the early 1980s before being retired.
