Description

Enjoy a day exploring the history and unspoiled natural beauty of Krka National Park. On the way, stop at the town of Sibenik and the outstanding UNESCO-listed St James Cathedral. At the national park, enjoy breathtaking views and a walk with stops for swimming in the clear waters.

Start out in the morning with a scenic drive inland from the coast to Sibenik. Don’t forget your camera to take some pictures of the important Renaissance cathedral that towers over the town’s pretty central square.

Move on to the national park entry point and discover Skradinski Buk – one of the main waterfalls. Stroll along the wooden pathways that sit above the waters of the River Krka with your guide. Enjoy the peace and quiet, where the only noise is faint birdsong and the flowing of waterfalls. If you feel like cooling off, you are welcome to take a dip in the refreshing waters and swim under the waterfalls.

Visit the still-active, hundred-year-old water mill, and enjoy some free time to explore the park further. Relax in the sunshine and on a cruising down the river, or opt to purchase lunch in one of the local restaurants. In the late afternoon, make your way back to the coast for drop-off at your hotel.

Overall the trip was very good. The tour had listed a boat cruise on the river as an inclusion, however once on the bus the tour guide advised that we would not have enough time to do the boat ride due to long waiting times to get on. The tour should either include sufficient time to do the boat cruise or exclude it from the list of activities

Krka waterfalls was very impressive, amazing scenery and great getting the opportunity to go for a swim in the fresh water. Our tour guide Darijo was great, good light hearted joking with everyone and very knowledgable. Even in the adversity of a broken down bus he still managed to make good of the situation by swiftly arranging alternate transport and treating us the the boat ride along the river Krka to another small town. Highly recommend this tour although don’t expect to be the only one there, it was mobbed!
