It will take approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic to reach Brinchang town. Cameron Highlands, known for its cool air, lush tea plantations and scenic stops.
Take a tour of Boh's first and Heritage Tea Factory and Centre where you can enjoy the beauty of the tea plantation and learn about the tea-making process. Drop by for a cup of tea or tea tasting and a tour while experiencing the beautiful estate of Cameron Highlands.
Next, visit the Cameron Highlands Strawberry Farm to pick fresh berries, enjoy sweet treats and explore hydroponic gardens. Alternatively, visit a bee farm for an educational experience, where you can learn about honeybees, see live hives and sample pure local honey products.
Experience the charm of Cameron Highlands with High Tea at The Lakehouse. Enjoy this delightful tradition English style afternoon tea on their beautiful terrace. Cameron Valley Tea House 2 is one of 3 such teahouses under Bharat Tea Plantations where you can walk down to the tea plantation from the roadside tea house.
It’s not free to enter the plantation but what’s nice is that there is a buggy service available for those with walking difficulties.
Stop at the Cameron Lavender Garden, a popular attraction known for its vibrant purple fields, cool mountain air and lavender-themed products.
On the return journey, make a memorable stop at Ipoh, which offers iconic limestone cave temples and colonial-era charm in the Old Town, including Concubine Lane and cafe hopping. Alternatively, visit Taiping for a relaxed nature-focused trip with the scenic Lake Gardens, zoo, and heritage sites like the Old Train Station.
A road trip from Penang to Cameron Highlands typically takes long hours two way, traffic can extend the journey. It is indeed a long, winding, and ascending route featuring narrow roads, which is not suitable for those prone to motion sickness or who dislike mountainous & twisty driving.
A 2-day Cameron Highlands Option offers a different experience for visitors. Allowing them to split the itinerary of top attractions like the Cameron Valley Tea Plantations and also add on Flora Park or Mossy Forest over two days for a relaxed pace, while others may prefer a single, busier day.
