What you can expect

Experience the luxurious Hatley Castle, the natural wonders of Goldstream Provincial Park, the soaring heights of the Kinsol Trestle, and the quaint village of Chemainus on this private guided tour of some of British Columbia's most fascinating historical sites.

After being picked up at your hotel, enjoy your pleasant ride to Hatley Caslte, an extravagant 40-room manor built in the Tudor revival style in 1908. Tour the interior of the mansion, which is now the current administrative centre for Royal Roads University, and then head outside to see the beautiful landscaping, which includes Japanese, Italian, and rose gardens.

Leave the castle behind as you head into the woods to visit Goldstream Provincial Park, a dense, heavily wooded forest that is well-known for its autumn salmon runs in Goldstream River. Hike on the park's nature trails and look to the skies to see if you can spot a bald eagle, which are often spotted flying here.

Make your way to the Kinsol Trestle, one of the highest wooden trestles in the world. While this structure was once used for trains to make their way across the Koksilah River, it is now an open-air walkway that you can venture out onto for a spectacular view of the valley below.

Your last stop is Chemainus, a seaside community known for its 39 outdoor murals that are scattered throughout city centre. Once a booming logging town, it is now a peaceful tourist spot where you can wander the city streets and discover shops, a theatre, antique dealers, and many restaurants. After a day of exploring Canadian history, depart from Chemainus and return to your hotel in Victoria.
