Description

On this small-group visit to the striking Acropolis of Athens, stroll through the Parthenon, the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory, and many more landmarks. Along the way, your local guide illuminates this ancient era and explains each monument you pass by.

Start your walk across the south slope of the Acropolis , and gaze out at the city's mesmerising beauty on your way to the top. Pause for the perfect photo before visiting the Theatre of Dionysus, which dates back to the sixth century BC.

Once you reach the top of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, follow your guide inside to explore its extraordinary monuments. See the Parthenon, which was built in 447 BC, and learn about its relationship to the goddess Athena. Marvel at the Erectheion, Propylaia and Nike temples, as well as the Monument of Agrippa. As you soak in the area's history and get up close with these historic marble structures, your guide brings you back in time with legends of Greek gods and stories from the era.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and walked at an excellent pace. He took questions, was friendly and I would highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide, Artemis was amazing! She is a native Athenian and told us of the Greek culture and history behind each site we visited. We took several breaks in the shade along the way and she answered any and all questions we had. It was very helpful to have a tour guide along the way to explain in detail the different structures and myths. I would highly recommend this experience!
