What you can expect

Leave the hustle and bustle of London behind as you immerse yourself in a world of ancient wonders at the majestic ruins of Stonehenge. Hear legends about the purpose of this mystical site, and then tour the Roman city of Bath, with its gorgeous stone buildings and eponymous baths.

Stonehenge

After being picked up, head through the English countryside, taking in the gorgeous views of gentle-sloping knolls until you reach the Stonehenge archaeological site. Approach the hilltop from a distance, admiring the view of the circle of enormous stacked stones as you get closer. Listen as your guide explains the theories behind this awe-inspiring structure, which may have been used as a place for sun worship, a healing centre, or even a burial site.

Bath

Next, head to the dazzling town of Bath, where stunning works of Georgian architecture are on display. Among them is the Royal Crescent, a row of 30 terraced houses that is laid out in a sweeping crescent in the centre of the city.

Enjoy a half day in Bath giving you the choice as to how you spend your time. You can choose to enter the Roman Baths or have free time to explore the city - the choice is yours!

Roman Baths (option)

At the Roman Baths, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the most famous and important Roman sites in Europe.
You'll learn all about the history of the Baths, from its origins as a temple dedicated to the goddess Sulis Minerva, to its eventual development into a swimming complex. Entrance to the Roman Baths is only included if the option including entrances is selected.
On display here are thousands of Roman objects that have been found on-site over the years. These include the Haruspex stone and a gilt bronze head of the goddess Sulis Minerva, one of the best-known objects from Roman Britain.
