Aulla is an important town in the Lunigiana region located in the province of Massa-Carrara (Tuscany), a short distance from the border with Liguria. Positioned at the confluence of the Magra river with the Aulella stream, the town is a strategic millennial junction nestled between the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines Crossroads of domination: Over the centuries, the village has changed owners several times because of its border position: it was under the control of the Bishops of Luni, the Malaspina family, the Republic of Genoa and, finally, the seigniory of Florence.

Lunigiana (Pass by)

Lunigiana is a picturesque borderland between Tuscany, Liguria and Emilia-Romagna, nestled between the Apennines and the Apuan Alps. Famous for hosting well over 100 medieval castles and small stone villages, it owes its name to the ancient Roman city of Luni
