Description

Ride along dramatic seawalls and forested parks, past historic districts and a modern Olympic village, on this active bicycle ride through Vancouver. An experienced guide leads you from Stanley Park to Gastown, to historic sites and public markets filled with charming restaurants and cafes.

Meet up with your guide in central Vancouver and start your day getting fitted for a snug helmet, adjusting your seat, and taking a test spin on your bicycle to make sure it's comfortable. When you're ready to roll, follow your guide towards the winding paths of Stanley Park, where you check out the grand branches of old-growth cedar that are scattered throughout this 1,001-acre (405-ha) park.

After some unforgettable harbour views from the seawall, pedal past the calm waters of English Bay, hop on a small passenger ferry, and drift over to Granville Island for some leisure time at a local market. Do some window shopping before following False Creek to find breath-taking views of Vancouver's gleaming, modern skyline.

As you head into town, check out venues that date back to the 1986 World Expo and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Hear about the city's innovative environmental efforts and trace the area's humble beginnings with a route that weaves although the historic streets of Gastown and the lantern-lined alleys of Chinatown. On your way back to the starting point, get tips on other areas to check out around Vancouver, and then part ways with your guide to do some more exploring on your own.

This is by far the best way to see the city. It’s an easy ride that covers a lot of ground including waterfront, rain forest, neighborhoods, and downtown areas, including a lot of places where a car or tour bus can’t go. The bicycles are well maintained and suitable for the terrain. Our guide, Bob, was a great storyteller, very knowledgeable about Vancouver as a native, super considerate, and sensitive to everyone’s abilities, comfort, and safety. I really liked that he didn’t give us the Chamber of Commerce party line. He gushed about all the things he loves about the city, but didn’t shy away from telling us about the problems. This is well worth the money and I highly recommend it!

This ride was perfect to see different parts of the city and Stanley Park. It was a good pace and a nice balance between riding and stopping to see sights. Our guide, Greg, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun! It was a great day with my teenage daughters.
