Nobody tells our story than our guests do. The guest who departed May 13, said, "We rebook this cottage again and again. Excellent amenities and great location. I've reviewed it each time. I would give it a 10 out of 5!!!! (It is exceptional.) Elegant, quiet, indoor and outdoor gathering spots, perfect views of the sunset from front porch rockers, wonderful comfy beds and lots of great books to read."
We invite you to come visit Mentone at Moonflower Cottage. Another recent guest said, "We enjoyed sitting on the front porch to watch the sun rise and set every day. Easy to find and very relaxing. Everybody in the area were so friendly and helpful. The property was very clean and comfortable. Loved the screened in back porch."
Mentone is a charming little town in northeast Alabama, just a few miles north of Fort Payne and 45 miles from Chattanooga. It sits atop Lookout Mountain, where the views are not only spectacular but there are wonderful places for hiking, the 104-foot DeSoto Falls just three miles away, and we are close to DeSoto State Park. The flora and fauna are spectacular year around and Moonflower is an easy 1/4-mile walk to the heart of Mentone, where there are charming stores and restaurants and more on the way. Be sure to visit the nonprofit Mentone Arts Center, as well as Elevation Bistro, Wildflower Cafe, the Mentone Market, The Hatter Restaurant and other specialty stores in town and nearby.
Moonflower Cottage will be the star of the your visit. Imagine being surrounded by antique furniture and oriental rugs, granite countertops and stainless appliances, two king en suites with full baths, and a fully equipped kitchen that's been described as "extraordinary."
The screened back porch offers gentle breezes, comfortable wicker furniture and a dining table for six. The front porch has four rocking chairs and it's the best place on earth to see incredible sunsets.

Perfect cottage
This cottage was everything advertised and more. It was super clean and so comfortable and relaxing. The location is perfect- beautiful views, quiet area and close to restaurants and shops. The screened porch was our favorite spot. It was private and felt like you were one with nature with all the greenery around. We would definitely stay there the next time. We highly recommend it!

Amazing Views and Beautiful Home!
This was the absolute best place to stay!! We watched the gorgeous sunset from the front porch. It was a short easy walk into town. The house was super clean and cozy! We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the back porch.

Peaceful Retreat
Moonflower Cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets. My friend and I booked this cottage a few weeks before our trip. Mr Ben, the owner messaged me via VRBO to inquire about our trip and if we had visited the area before. We both were familiar with Mentone and looked forward to returning. The location of this little cottage has some of the best views on the brow. This time of year the weather was breezy and cool in the morning and evenings but warmed up nicely during the day. We walked around the neighborhood, sat in the rocking chairs and enjoyed the view, ate dinner on the screened in back porch and watched the squirrels play and listened to the birds sing. It was peaceful and perfect. The cottage was clean to perfection. The beds were very comfortable. Everything you need is provided, right down to snacks and coffee. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. And if you’re luckily you may get to meet the owner on the way out. Mr Ben is a kind man who takes pride in his property and wants his guests to have a wonderful stay.
