High atop Mamey Peak you will find SAPPHIRE PEAK. After years as a privately owned villa and formerly known as Apito, SAPPHIRE PEAK is under new ownership and was refreshed in 2022. The mid island location and close proximity to National Park Beaches makes this villa perfect to enjoy all of St. John.

Amazing views of Bordeaux Mountain, Coral Bay, East End, Norman Island, Peter Island and beyond are visible inside and poolside from SAPPHIRE PEAK.
Please enter the total number of people occupying the house for the correct price. The lower bedroom is accessed by circular exterior steps. Not ideal for young children. 4WD is required for the bumpy road to the house. The house has AC and no screens in the windows.

Upon entering the great room the large picture window takes advantage of showcasing the Caribbean view. Vaulted ceiling’s in the main floor level with rich wood tones add to the beauty of the space. The fully equipped kitchen and the option of a 2 seat peninsula or a 4 seat balcony table are perfect for enjoying meals before or after your beach days. The triple water filtration system and automatic generator are a bonus to island living. The amenities include smart tv’s and internet connection available in every room.

One bedroom opens off the main floor living room offering a king bed, plenty of storage, ceiling fan, washer and dryer and a luxurious bathroom. A second spacious king suite is located poolside with an equally beautiful bathroom and large walk in shower. Though rarely needed on Mamey Peak, the villa is fully air conditioned.

After a day of fun and sun, a refreshing dip in the pool will leave you feeling reenergized for a delicious dining experience at one of St. John’s wonderful restaurants. Or you could have a local chef come cook for you while you relax and take in the views.

The breezes atop Mamey Peak will keep you cool even on the hottest of nights. The sounds, scents, and sights of nature abound at SAPPHIRE PEAK. Tropical flowers, birds, tree-frogs, gentle trade winds, a million stars in the night sky, inspiring vistas of blue sea, sky, and green mountains are what make this location of St. John the perfect getaway.

SAPPHIRE PEAK sits on almost an acre of lush pristine Caribbean paradise. SAPPHIRE PEAK’s mid-island location is ideal and unique... A quick 15 min. drive from Cruz Bay(all paved roads), a 10 min. drive to Coral Bay, and 5 min. drive to St. John's legendary powder white North Shore Beaches. Reef Bay trail is only 5 minutes away. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You will immediately feel at ease in this comfortable and tastefully furnished island home. Settle in for a stress free week of bliss.

The price is based on the number of people who occupy the property. Nightly rate is based on a 1-2 occupancy. Each additional guest above 2 is charged a per person per nights fee. Please enter the correct TOTAL number of guests including children when booking the property. Only paying guests are allowed on the property.

The downstairs bedroom is only accessible by a set of external stairs. Property is not suitable for young children.

very nice
It's beautiful property that is very private. Closer to the quiet side of the island and best beaches which was good for us. Had everything we needed for the most part. Pool was spotless. We cooked several nights and all was good there. It's a shame the screens are missing (as the ad says) as you will need to use the A/C at night to sleep.

Good Location
Needs more overhead lighting in all rooms. Lower level room had a musty smell and the dehumidifier always ran and would overflow. It was also very noisy and needed to turn off at night because of noise. Most of the outdoor lights that lighted the access to house were not working.

If you are looking to get away and relax in modest luxury this is perfect! The quench pool was well maintained and a lovely way to end a day snorkling at the beaches. Kitchen is well appointed and easy to use. There is a nice brick patio to do morning yoga or stretches. Loved it!

Quiet Location and Beautiful Sunrises
From the time our plane landed in St. Thomas to getting on the Ferry at Red Hook, to picking up our Jeep (you MUST have a Wrangler to get to this property), the property management was in contact with us. We met Eric at the Starfish Market in Cruz Bay after we picked up groceries, then followed him to Sapphire Peak. The road should be called "Whiplash Drive" lol, but we got used to it after we figured out how to dodge the pot holes. The property is very nice and updated. The bed is extremely comfortable and the sunrises each morning were wonderful. The only drawback was that the pool wasn't heated. After being on the beach and hiking every day, it would have been nice to relax in a hot tub or heated pool. The pool in the Winter months is just too cold. We did encounter a water and front door lock issue, but the property management ("Beth/Eric") were quick to resolve the issues, which we were very pleased. The water pressure isn't great there, but we got used to it. The property is a 20 minute drive to Cruz Bay, 15 minute drive to Coral Bay, and 10-12 minute drive to the start of the North Shore beaches - Francis/Maho. Trunk Bay is the only bay that charges $10 (Credit Card or Apple Pay only) - no cash. Other beaches are FREE. Parking is VERY limited, so be at the beaches by 9:15 a.m. (latest). Don't park on or near line or you will be towed - from experience. Loved our stay! We would like to return one day!!

Perfect house, perfect location
This was our 5th house on STJ, definitely the niceset one, and the best location. We have two teenagers (15 and 18) so they were happy to stay downstairs alone. I'm glad the kids were older. I would not have been comfortable with the sleeping arrangement if they were younger. The house had everything you need ++++ and James had the fridge packed with delicious deli items that we used for dinner our first night since by the time we arrived no one wanted to go back out. All of the house finishings were beautiful including the kitchen - we cooked a fair amount. The HVAC (stayed at a house w/o - never again) and outside tables and lounges were key! We've stayed at houses with bigger pools - this one is a soaker pool - our floats took up the entire expanse ;) and LOCATION, wow!!!! You can't get better when it comes to distance to both towns and the beaches. The drive up is definitely for the brave but that seems to be the case with every STJ house. So we highly recommend and James was very responsive and as I said first night snacks/dinner was truly appreciated!

This villa is everything it was advertised as and so much more. Fully equipped, adorable place, the views are absolutely stunning and it has a very private feel to it. Highly recommend and fully intend to stay here again.

Sapphire Peak on Mamey Peak in St. John - wonderful!
We have been staying on St. John for two weeks just about every August for the last 20 years. Sapphire Peak is the first property that we have stayed in that provides central air conditioning, and it was a treat to cook without sweating! The JM Miller Property Management team was wonderful and very responsive. We had a problem with the pool, reported it, and it was fixed within hours. It is wonderfully close to all that we love, especially the North Shore beaches of Francis, Maho and Leinster Bays. Views are wonderful from the property. Highly recommend.

Lovely Trip
The house is beautiful, clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable, as were the linens and pillows. The view down to Coral Bay was amazing. We didn’t get around to using the grill, but it fired right up when we checked it. The pool and deck were clean, and we enjoyed sitting outside when we were “home”. There were some fun little geckos and tree frogs to see at different times of the day too. If we ever come back to St. John, this home will be at the top of our list.

Fantastic week at SAPPHIRE PEAK!
We recently had the most amazing time at SAPPHIRE PEAK in St. John, USVI. This villa exceeded all our expectations and made our vacation truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a fantastic property management team who ensured that everything was perfect for our stay. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great week on the island. The villa itself was everything we could have hoped for and we immediately felt at home. The breathtaking views from both inside the villa and by the poolside were simply awesome. The villa's location was truly fantastic. We loved how close it was to everything St. John has to offer. Within a quick drive, we could easily explore the North Shore beaches, visit Cruz Bay, or Coral Bay. The location was truly ideal for making the most of our time on the island. In summary, our experience at SAPPHIRE PEAK was nothing short of incredible. We had an amazing time, and the villa provided everything we needed for a perfect week on the island.

Probably our fault for maybe not looking at the fine print. We always book 2 bedrooms but the only way to get to the second bedroom was outside down a spiral staircase- not great at night. Very well stocked and supplied. VERY windy and no screens on any of the windows to let the breeze blow through. Very rough terrain to get upto the villa definately needed a 4 wheel drive. But it’s St John and mostly expected. The views were spectacular.
