This apartment building offers full security entry and foyer, with wonderful city living lifestyle. The building âThe Ruthven Mansions' was Adelaide's first luxury apartment building. A spectacular architectural style building. The design, strongly residential in character, is a distinctive full bodied interpretation of the Gothic and Art Nouveau influence. This is an iconic and unparalleled Adelaide property.
Ruthven Mansions are historically and architecturally significant because they represented, when built, a benchmark in luxury accommodation in Australia, incorporating innovations such as central vacuum cleaning, automated doors, mechanical ventilation, electric light and an electric lift. Despite subsequent cycles of dilapidation and refurbishment and the loss of original internal details, the Mansions are an important example of this style of residential accommodation, and are among the earliest of Australia's multi-storey apartments.
A great location, only a short walk or tram ride to be able to access the full public transport network. Good shops/restaurants close by. Very secure. The outside space is a tiny balcony and there is little natural light. Please make it clear in the details that the system.washing machine is a shared coin operated
The apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable. It is in a prime position in relation to the Art Gallery,Museum,Library,Botanical Gardens & many other wonderful attractions that Adelaide provides.Thank you for my stay.
Everything about our stay was made easier by receiving regular communication from Danni the host. Location was excellent as was the spacious apartment. Thank you Regards Caroline
The apartment worked perfectly for a short stay and first visit to Adelaide. We were able to walk to the downtown, shopping, etc. Danielle, our host, provided timely responses to any questions and checked in with us to ensure we were comfortable. Our only comment is that the house is dark as it is situation next to a large building so no natural light exists in the apartment. Overall a great experience and we wouldnât hesitate to recommend staying at this perfectly situated property.
There was an issue with the parking as on Wotif the site l booked through said there was on site parking available, it cost us an unexpected $200 to park our car for the 8 nights, fee free cancellation was offered at the last minute but we wouldnât have had anywhere else to go at the last minute so took our chance with the parking when we got there never dreaming it would be so expensive. The apartment is quite dated and lacks natural light, it is in a good position for city activities.
This is a perfect location in the centre of Adelaide. It's close to everything including public transport, shops, cafes and the cultural strip on North Terrace. The apartment had everything you could need and basic snacks, tea, coffee etc were provided. My questions beforehand were answered promptly and they were flexible when I needed a change of date.
Danielle's lovely cozy quiet flat in the CBD is a perfect oasis in the heart of the city. She has set up the flat with everything you could need and more - including lovely thoughtful welcome snacks and drinks. In all the years I've been renting holiday apartments, Danielle's hospitality is the most generous of all.
Was two single women related by marriage we were doing a road trip from Melbourne and Robe to Adelaide for the footy. We found this to be very well located apartment within walking distance of AO. We really enjoyed our overnight stay and the attention to detail was excellent, with some unexpected extras provided. The furnishings are lovely and very much in keeping with the Art Deco theme of the building. Thanks for your work Danielle and we would certainly stay in this apartment again.
