We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, room was clean and generous size, bar with happy hour was a bonus. They do supply some cups and teaspoons, but no other cutlery was supplied, so you cannot really make any food the kettle was setup in the bathroom which was a bit odd, but didn't bother us. Oooh almost forgot they had a security card to access building and lift which the wife really liked.

The hotel is a clean oasis providing a safe refuge from the vibrant and colourful street life of Adelaide's central region. I prefer a hotel with an opening window for fresh air but understand this is often difficult or near impossible in multi-story city locations. The service was terrific, the room clean and comfortable. All positive.

Breakfast doesn’t meet the same standard as similar hotels. Staff at times aren’t easy to get along with. I’ve stayed here a lot for business and leisure during 15 or so years - and like it for its convenient location - however have reached my tether with this place and will likely look to other nearby hotels in the future.

Room and bedding very comfortable. Car park was oversold leading to stress every night as guests double parked. Open sewage at back of car park. No room service (without notice) for three nights lead to us running out of basics like toilet paper. Breakfast expensive and crowded and food not replenished when it ran out. Suspect staff were overwhelmed by Xmas rush, but a few changes were n management approach would have made all the difference.
