Great stay but awful paint smell on first day

This accommodation is absolutely stunning. The view is so amazing and everything is great except for one thing. On our first day, as soon as we entered the room, we noticed an intense smell. We were told by concierge that it may be the common musty smell that they have in Queensland and that it’s normal because they had a lot of rain. The next day, she said she just remembered that the unit had just been painted so that’s what’s maybe causing the smell and that it’s normal. The smell dramatically reduced the next day since we’ve left the windows open, but it was a little bit too late b ‘cause the smell on the first day already caused us some breathing issues and we got a cold as well. I guess they don’t always paint the room and this is a one off issue but I recommend that if you smell a really strong odour, just insist to be moved to another room especially if you are very sensitive to smell.

Amazing stay at Marina Shores property!

Excellent stay at Marina Shores! The room exceeded our expectations very spacious and clean. The front desk staff Charlie and Bebe were very helpful in assisting us with all our queries. The location is perfect! Quiet and lovely running/walking path very close to the property. Not far from restaurants, Lagoon and Main Street of Airlie Beach. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Great for a somewhat secluded, quiet stay that is still near the downtown area, which is about a 15-20 minute walk along the water. There also are a couple cafes and restaurants along the water that are 5-10 minute walks alway. Sunsets are beautiful from the ocean view suites, or the outdoor sitting area for those without an ocean view. There is also a boardwalk (that unfortunately was closed for construction during our stay) but looks nice. You can tell the suite is a bit dated and the cleanliness could be better. I wouldn’t consider this a 5 star resort, more so 3.5-4 but I still enjoyed the stay. The front desk ladies were very friendly and accommodating.

Marina Shores did not disappoint! We had a room that my teens actually called their “dream house” because the “aesthetic” was so amazing (room 129 if anyone is looking). When I first saw we were on the first floor I was a bit disappointed but that vanished quickly when I saw we still had a view and we likely had the best room in the place. There’s also a boardwalk outside the room and we saw the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. The views (water, mountain, boats, boardwalk) were spectacular and we would walk there every night. There was even a resident sea turtle (we called him Fred) who would visit. It was the most amazing booking. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give them more!! One small thing: our room had a nespresso machine so we went out buy some (they have instant). Finally, the service was amazing. The gentleman went out of his way to help at every turn. We would definitely return!!

Stay here. It is awesome.

The view is beautiful of the sea and boats. Condo is very large. Huge kitchen with the works. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure. Clean clean. Covered parking. The lovely lady at reception was very friendly and sweet. Quick check in. A wealth of info. Booked us with Ocean Rafting. A must do trip!! Only a 2 min drive into Airlie Beach. Those that are fit could walk the boardwalk. If we come back to Australia this will be a spot we will stay long term. Thank you for such a nice place to stay!

NIce big rooms with fantastic view outside of town

The hotel is a lovely modern building with an easy check in office. Staff was friendly and efficient. Parking was included and easy to access. The room was a 2nd floor 2 Br apartment with a water view, It was lovely and large with modern aesthetics and furnishings. The room was definitely showing wear and truly not clean. The dining table was sticky, there were tiny ants all through the kitchen and the bathroom was very grimy - most especially the back of the pocket door (ICK!!) I did report this to the front desk and it was met with a smile but no real concern. I tried not to ;let it bother me and wiped down the surfaces to enjoy the lovely pricey accommodations but the lack of a strong WiFi signal in the room was very frustrating to try and book excursions and travel plans. I had to go sit outside the office at night to try and get a signal. The pool area was beautiful and large with a good length for swimming laps. The gardens were pretty and the foreshore boardwalk was accessible. Unfortunately it was a 40 minute walk into Airlie Beach so it was not convenient to town without a car. This may be a concern if you want to actually see the town There are some restaurants at the Marina but it was also a 20 minute walk away. I enjoyed the stay in such a beautiful area but would not likely stay again as the cleanliness and lack of wifi - after paying premium rates - was disappointing. Kitchen was not well equipped and stovetop element was not working

Best service we have EVER received in 30 years

Nick and Teri (owners) had soft music playing when we entered our room. It was past business hours as we arrived late by train. Our apartment was beautiful, clean and had a beautiful view of the marina and bay. Walking to town/restaurants was a bit far (perhaps only seemed so as I had a knee injury) but cabs were readily available. Nick and Teri went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay - arranging tours for us, recommending restaurants and places to visit. Their "Ecojet safari" was one of the highlights of our visit to Australia - right up there with the great barrier reef and whale watching. We didn't see lots of marine life, but the jet ski tour was fun, informative and we did see lots of birds and the environment - especially the mangroves up close and personal with our tour guide Ben. I would go back to Arlie beach - which in Winter is not that busy - if only for this and the experiences we had with Nick and Teri. All customer service reps should speak to them to learn how to treat their clients! Way to go!

Large apartment with comfy bed and couch, good aircon and dark bedroom in the morning. Good location and friendly staff. Clean linen BUT the cutlery, crockery, throw pillows, curtains and bathrooms needed a deep clean. Check-in parking was occupied all afternoon.
