Very good

The Monte Villa is historical with awesome antiques, and amazing looking bar (not operational), and the coolest 1930's elevator. But - the rooms are tiny and they never should place a king bed in a tiny room. We had no room to dress or undress or move around and we are very small people. The check in person was awesome and friendly but the rooms just are not okay for a return visit.
I like old hotels that have been remodeled, but the interior design of colors and textures in the halls was not done well. Breakfast was not good. Beds were very comfortable!
The uniqueness of the old hotel. Internet service was a bit hard to figure out - once I saw the passwords for each area posted by a light switch, then it was easy. Breakfast was good.
Property inside is wonderful the bar, sofas, red carpet that has been kept up from the 20 century
It feels grand to be inside

The owner was very nice. She showed me around to make sure i knew where to go. The walls in my room were so thin i could my neighbor breathe. The room was super small. The bathroom was tiny. No TV service. Breakfast was good(scrambled eggs) but options were exremely limited. It was a good price so I guess it was ok. I wouk
Ld not stay again though since the walls were so thin
This is an old facility. We read that it was being remodeled but it wasn't. Two safety issues. Very strong odor of cleaning products. We could not open the window to air out the room because it was heated by a space heater that was vented to the outside via the window.
There were hairs on the bedspread. The bathroom sink was so small, and under the protruding mirror, so that we couldn't even spit out our toothpaste without it dripping on the floor. The plaster on the walls was chipped in several places. We left a day early because we are two medical professionals who worried about the safety of the facility.

Fine
The hotel is entirely habitable, really, it's fine. The proprietors have worked really hard, you can tell. But if you need the cookie-cutter amenities of a chain hotel, head to Alamosa. This building is old. The rooms are small. The heating, TV and bathroom situations are not amazing. Breakfast is present, but not amazing. But, its a clean, safe stay in a really interesting historic building.
This is our favorite close getaway. Makes us feel like we are on a mini vacation even though we are just 45 minutes away. We love the historic charm and the great hospitality by the husband and wife team. Love their breakfast goodies and beverages they provided directly to our room.
We will always return. They feel like an extended part of our family - Many blessings
Our favorite hotel to stay at when in the area. Super people, service and wonderful historic rooms. We will always stay here. Blessings to all.

The Monte Villa Hotel is like a grand hotel that has seen better days. It is reasonably clean but smells tired or "old."
The public areas have beautiful antique furnishings. There is an elevator with a birdcage door that requires someone to slide it open behind a hinged door. The birdcage door requires strength to pull open, but it also requires help to hold it open while pushing the hinged door open. The restaurant and bar are presently closed but beautifully decorated with a combination of antique and modern furnishings.
The hotel hostess was friendly and informative. She also gave us good service, as well as bottled water, orange juice, and breakfast croissants for the next morning.
There was no clock in the actual room.
The bathroom did not have a counter, but the remnants of a former full bathroom still lined the bathroom's walls.
Our bed was a very comfortable king-size bed.
Was driving from Denver to southwest Colorado and didn't want to drive over wolf creek pass in the dark, was getting tired so booked a room. Got in around 9:30 pm and checked in, very nice couple greeted us at the counter and we're extremely friendly and courteous, gave us a little history of the building and off to the room we went. It wasn't a very big room but perfect for me and my wife. Really comfortable bed. Super cute place if we have to travel through again will be staying again.
Monte Villa is a quaint historic local hotel. The owners suggested a great place for dinner. The room was small, but clean. They had homemade breakfast sandwiches for breakfast, which were yummy.
