This was my first time visiting Amman, and unfortunately, we had a very stressful experience with a taxi when we first arrived. When we reached the hotel, we realized that we had accidentally left one of our backpacks in the taxi. It had very important and expensive belongings inside, including a laptop, an iPad, AirPods Max, and school supplies. We were extremely worried, especially because the taxi driver had been arguing with us about paying additional money before we got out of the car.We immediately explained what happened to the hotel owner and his son, and they were absolutely amazing. They checked the hotel cameras, helped us identify the taxi, contacted the driver, and kept calling and following up until he finally returned with our belongings. We arrived around 10 PM, and they continued helping us until around 1 AM. They did not give up or leave us to handle the situation alone. They stayed involved until they knew we had gotten everything back safely. They also advised us not to use regular taxis again and recommended using Uber because it would be safer and easier for us while visiting Amman. We were five travelers visiting Amman for the first time, so having the owner and his son personally go out of their way to help us meant so much. They treated our problem like it was their own. What could have been a terrible first night became a situation we will always remember because of their kindness, patience, and genuine concern for us. I am extremely grateful to both!
