Enjoying glorious sea views and a tranquil rural setting, Villa Nynemia is within fairly easy walking distance of the sandy beaches, shops and tavernas of Almyrida, especially in the cool of the evening.

Elegant furniture, newly renovated kitchen and bathroom fittings (with English plumbing) are all part of Penny, the charismatic owner's philosophy that guests who really enjoy their stay are likely to return.

The beautiful pool is surrounded by sunbeds under the pergola.



Location Almyrida

Standing on a terraced hillside a little under 2 km from Almyrida, Villa Nynemia is set amongst 6,000 sq m. of olive groves. It's a 25min hilly walk into the laid back small resort of Almyrida with mini markets and other small shops and taverna tables on the waterfront.

2 kms inland, the pretty village of Gavalohori offers a further choice of excellent tavernas and a baker amongst its streets.

The beautiful Venetian harbours of Chania and Rethymnon are both easy to visit from Villa Nynemia and a trip into the nearby mountains is unmissable.

Stunning views, a great location (prepare to do some uphill walking if you don't have a car, however) and the feel of a perfect holiday oasis, Nynemia is the ideal place to properly relax. Plus: table tennis!

Great stay at the villa! Very well equipped where we spent a nice week in August. The house is calm with fan and AC in each room. You can sleep late in the morning as no noise around, and take the aperitif seeing the sunset in also a very calm atmosphere. The pool is great where you enjoy the sun or the shadow. 5min from Almyrida center where you could find all you want : shops, diving center, restaurants, food market. Very nice and calm city center. I strongly recommend the house and the area. I will come there again with joy.

Beautiful villa with large pool area

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. The whole property is large and has a nice atmosphere with great views. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed. Nektarios gave us a very warm welcome. The area was very quiet and relaxing. You can only hear the crickets chirping. We can highly recommend the accommodation.

Lovely Villa Nynemia

The very informative accurate description of the villa by Freelance had captured our imaginations but in reality, our expectations were far exceeded. We loved the salt filtered easy access pool (no sore eyes from too much chlorine) and, the ample outside space and balconies all with plenty of furniture to soak up the stunning location and views. A perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Our best Freelance villa holiday!

Over the last few years we have stayed in several Freelance villas, in Kefalonia and Crete, and this was the best we have stayed in so far. Location is excellent. Less than an hour's drive from Xania airport, and less than 30 minutes walk from Almyrida beach. Almyrida is a small, fairly busy resort, with an excellent selection of places to eat and drink, from traditional Greek tavernas to a sophisticated rooftop cocktail bar. There are also some nice tavernas in the nearby village of Gavalohori. The villa itself is spacious and well equipped. The veranda at the front and rear balcony mean that you can always sit in the sun or shade, and the view from the rear balcony over Souda Bay is spectacular, especially at sunset. The pool was lovely and well-maintained, and the villa itself was clean with all the plumbing and electrics working as they should, (sadly this is often not the case in Greek holiday accommodation.) Nectarios, the owner was friendly and helpful, and there was even a chocolate cake waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived! We are seriously considering returning to Villa Nynemia next year. Can't think of anything...

Beautiful location and warm welcome from hosts. No area for storing rubbish when bin full. Issue with ants when bagged rubbish left inside but nowhere to store outside. Areas around the pool were cracking and need repair. Doors onto the front veranda not opening/ closing easily (door seems to have come out of alignment). Large cockroach seen one morning in the kitchen - it disappeared behind the cupboards before it could be caught.

Lovely in every way

The owners Penny and her husband (Nictarios?) are so kind and so welcoming. There was a very good welcome pack, as well as a magnificent vegan-friendly cake, and Penny arrived with presents for our two grandsons who had their birthdays while we were there. The servicing is excellent and carried out with least disturbance to the occupants, and Nictarios insisted on coming to clean the pool after strong winds, in spite of having a very bad back at the time. The views are wonderful, and the grounds are great for exploring and games. We enjoyed lemons from the tree and various herbs we found. Wonderful time had by all. Enormous thanks to the owners for their efforts. Only smallest complaint is that all the adults found the beds rather hard. We wonder if some mattress toppers might be considered?
