Big Little Hideaway offers a unique sanctuary in Taos, where campfire spirit meets boutique hotel with a curated wellness menu designed to revive your mind, body, and spirit. Awe-inspiring nature serves as the backdrop for cherished memories, relaxation, and connection.

Imagine starting your day with a cup of coffee on your private deck, while panoramic views of epic mountain landscapes unfold before you. Fill your day with the perfect itinerary and end the day looking up at the stars.

Our rural and secluded 5-acre property features 4 tiny houses, each spaced 25+ feet apart, offering privacy and community. Hot springs, paddleboarding, hiking, and endless roads to explore are right outside the gate. Taos and Arroyo Secco are just 15 minutes away, where you can indulge in great food, explore galleries, and shop, or venture to the high alpine village of Taos Ski Valley, only 30 minutes away. There are so many opportunities for adventure and renewal.

Built in 2021, Rainbow Connection features colorful southwestern decor, high-quality bedding, and all the modern conveniences: a mini-split AC/Heat, a furnace for those super-cold winter nights, a three-burner stove, an oven, a refrigerator/freezer, and a full bathroom with a tankless water heater. You'll love the giant picture window, private deck, and gazing at the stars at night.

While kids love the wide-open spaces to explore and play, parents can relax with the peace of mind that our property is tucked safely away from the main road. Imagine finding a cozy spot to finally finish that long-ignored novel while your kids enjoy their adventures. It's a space where every family member can unwind in their own way.

Friendly, well-behaved, and trained dogs are welcome and encouraged. Please refer to our pet policy for details.

Feel free to wander anywhere on the property while respecting the privacy of the other guests. We’ve created little perches at the best spots, especially for sunrise and sunset. Everyone loves the hot tub, and though it is shared, we’ve never had a complaint that it wasn’t available.

We are a quiet retreat space, and ask that all guests adhere to the 9PM quiet time. Click here for more guest agreements.

We’re located on a rural residential dirt road with a mix of adobe homes, earthships, modular homes, vintage trailers, and farms; New Mexico True! You don’t need 4-wheel drive, though we do recommend it in the winter or at least snow chains on hand. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed into a true sanctuary that nourished our souls. Absolutely magical. Jayme greeted us and because of a small technical issue in the tiny home we had booked, she upgraded us, of her own accord, to the deluxe home which we were blessed to stay in for the 4 nights. Every detail was well considered and created in love. Everything we needed was there. We absolutely loved it, the views, the quietness, the extraordinary night sky while lying in the hot tub, the coyotes calling in the distance, the recommendations of where to go, the wonderment right on the doorstep, the canyon and natural hot pools and the genuiness kindness of Doug and Jayme. It will be a memory held in our hearts forever and we would be back in a flash were we not living in Europe.

Awesome little place, very comfortable,secluded and quiet, has a great porch with 2 sitting areas. I would definitely book agian when iam out in the Taos area. Behind a keypad gate and ony 3 total tiny homes. Everyone was super friendly and quiet. 5stars all the way around

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Rio. It was an immaculately clean, well-organized and designed, and super cozy space. We loved watching the sunset from the property and and siting on the porch with a view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The proximity to swimming in the Rio Grande was so convenient. I can't wait to return.

Fantastic secluded property

This tiny home exceeded our expectations in every way. It was easy to access with seclusion and privacy even with two other tiny homes on the property. We had everything we could possibly need to keep us comfy while hanging around including beautiful local mugs for drinks, a cozy bed, and views for days. The home is within 18 minutes of our favorite spots in Taos which was a huge plus. The beautiful acreage was especially loved by our pups. We loved our stay!

Nice little hidden gem

This was our first vrbo experience & Doug & Jayme were great about answering All If my questions. We had a little snafu with the reservation after arriving but thank goodness Jayme handled it with grace and made us feel super comfortable. Definitely recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay in this tiny home experience. This would not have been our usual choice for a vacation stay, but I’m so glad we did. Good to get out of our comfort zone and experience the beauty and serenity of this area. Loved it!

Great property, great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Big Little Hideaway in El Prado/Taos area. The tiny home was great and everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The unit was small but provided everything needed for the 2 of us and our small dog. Unit was clean, owner was extremely helpful. The location was great as well. The rental is one of several on the property. Located just 15-20 minutes north of Taos and a short 35 minutes to Red River. Centrally located and made our time in the Enchanted Circle very convenient. Hosts were great and provided excellent communication before, during, and after our stay. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Taos.

Great little getaway!

My husband and I had a fabulous and memorable stay in the Rio tiny home. It was cozy, clean, and peaceful with the best views! We explored the property in our down time, which was nice for a short hike. I just can't put into words how much we enjoyed our time at the compound. Hot tub views were breath taking. We will definitely book again. Actually considering renting all three tiny homes for a family gathering. Btw, the hosts were very responsive and friendly.

Perfect Taos Getaway

What a great find! This tiny home has all you need to feel tucked away in nature, but with all the comforts of home. We loved the hot tub, the secluded spot, the fire pit and proximity to Taos. We used it as a home base to explore Jemez Springs as well. Had a great Time — we will be back for sure and hope to rent out the whole compound with our friends and family. Great Getaway

Wonderful place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Very close to fishing, hiking by the river and a short jaunt to Taos Ski Valley! We would definitely stay again and would recommend highly.

SO FUN!

My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary and we had such a fun getaway. It was in such a cool area, felt great to unplug and just spend some time together. Jayme and Doug are so great with communication and made everything so easy. The tiny home was so cute, clean, and cozy. We also went down to the John Dunn bridge and then hiked out to the hot springs... what a great weekend adventure. I definitely recommend this place if you just want to unwind and reconnect with nature! We had a blast!

Five Mabuhay stars according to my daughter! The place is perfect for our vacation- very relaxing and close to nature! You have everything you need in this tiny home! It’s close to hiking and ski area. You will feel at home. The view from the window is breathtaking! Perfect for an afternoon tea or wine on sunset!
