Arriving at the property, you will find open parking for four vehicles. The front door is equipped with a WiFi-enabled smart lock to ensure a stress-free check in (rest assured, we’ve got a key in a convenient lockbox should an issue arise with the lock).
At the front of the home, there is an antique wood bench framing the valley views below. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or simply bask in the glory of a perfect waiting spot. Complimentary firewood for the indoor kiva fireplace, primary bedroom fireplace, and outdoor firepit is stacked near the front door.
Entryway:
An entryway serves as a perfect spot for your shoes, gear, and personal belongings. There are two wet trays available, plenty of hooks, and a trunk for sitting/storing.
Living Room:
As you step into the home, you will enter a bright and spacious living room beneath soaring tongue-and-groove ceilings, where a plush leather sofa and antique armchairs surround a classic kiva fireplace. Terracotta tile floors and colorful textiles add layers of comfort and style. While the home has radiant floor heating, you’re encouraged to make a small fire to up the cozy factor on those cool mountain evenings. During the warmer months, standing fans are provided to keep the afternoon warmth at bay. A Roku TV is available. Please BYOL (bring your own logins) to enjoy all of your own streaming services. The walls are decorated with original art and sculptures from our favorite southwest artists.
Dining Room:
The dining room features an antique table that accommodates six for family-style meals, set against a backdrop of expansive valley views below. The table itself carries a story — once a door, its scratches and marks reflect the history of gatherings past. We hope that as you share meals here, you’ll create your own memories to take home, adding to the piece’s legacy of connection and togetherness. If you’d like to add additional place settings, the handcrafted wood bench in the adjoining sunroom is available.
Sunroom:
A bright and inviting nook, the sunroom is the perfect spot to curl up with a book, sip your morning coffee, or simply soak in the sweeping views framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. Warmed by natural light throughout the day, this cozy retreat invites you to slow down, unwind, and let the beauty of the mountains be your backdrop.
Kitchen:
The open living space extends to a fully equipped kitchen featuring a restaurant grade Castle gas range, oven, and griddle (please use the lighters on the counter for easy lighting and be aware that the pilot lights in the oven may make the unit warm even when it is off). Fellow cooks will find a comprehensive selection of cookware, appliances and dinnerware. If you’re not enjoying one of Taos’ delicious restaurants, you’ll have a great set up for a home cooked meal. The kitchen also boasts custom tile countertops with bar seating. For those indulging, we provide glasses and bar accessories. It’s a perfect spot to spend time together and reminisce. Cheers! Basic oils and spices, as well as coffee and tea, are provided.
Reading Nook and Game Room:
Through the kitchen and down two steps there is a variety of our favorite board games, as well as a reading nook with hundreds of our favorite books (along with several comfy reading chairs, of course!). For a change of pace, gather around for board games, test your aim at darts, or challenge friends to a lively ping pong match.
Behind the double doors in the game room, there is a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. Complimentary laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. Essential cleaning products are available for guest use as needed (no cleaning expectations, we just know that sometimes accidents happen!).
Downstairs Bedrooms (2nd and 3rd):
The second bedroom has a king-sized bed. It’s tucked away down a short hallway on the right and has forest views. The third bedroom (down the same short hallway and to the left) has both a queen-sized bed and a twin-sized day bed with large windows and a door that opens onto the flagstone patio. Each room has bedside tables with reading lights and a large closet. Fans are available during the warmer months. For families with kids, you’ll find two pack n’ plays in the closet, as well as sheets, an audio baby monitor, and a variety of children’s books.
Downstairs Bathroom:
Located between the game room and the second and third bedrooms, the downstairs bathroom has a large tile vanity and a shower-bath with beautiful tile surround. We offer eco-friendly health-conscious bath essentials, including Public Goods body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and lotion, as well as amazing extra-large Vidori towels from Standard Linen.
Upstairs Primary Bedroom:
The upstairs primary bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed fitted with premium linens (an amazing sleep is in your future!). With a private fireplace and sitting area, the primary bedroom is a relaxing and stylish getaway. Bedside tables, an antique dresser, reading lights and a large mirror ensure the bedroom is fully appointed. Off the primary bedroom, there is a private balcony with epic valley view’s extending for as far as the eye can see. Private seating offers a quiet opportunity to relax and unwind at the start or end of each day.
The ensuite bathroom includes heated floors, a walk-in closet, two vanities with tile countertops, a luxury walk in waterfall shower, and a separate jacuzzi tub for ultimate relaxation. Similar to the downstairs bathroom, we provide complimentary bath essentials, including Public Goods body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and lotion, as well as amazing extra-large Vidori towels from Standard Linen.
Out the upstairs back door, you are free to explore the national forest and all the adventure it has to offer. Hiking is only a few steps away.
Patio:
Step out from the cozy reading nook onto a charming covered portal, complete with a grill for easy outdoor cooking. Just beyond, the space opens to a sweeping flagstone patio that feels like an extension of the landscape itself.
Dine al fresco beneath twinkling string lights at a large table that seats eight, the perfect spot to share meals while taking in endless mountain views. Sunrise paints the sky with soft pastels, and at dusk, the horizon glows in fiery colors—both best enjoyed from this outdoor haven.
The patio invites you to linger: gather around the outdoor fireplace for s’mores, stories, and laughter, or sink into the circular Nordic hot tub, where the cool night air contrasts with the soothing warmth of the water. As crickets sing and a breeze stirs through the pines, you’ll find yourself fully immersed in the peace of the high desert—wrapped beneath a blanket of stars.
