While the property was spacious and family friendly, we primarily rented this property due to it having a pool for our kids to enjoy for their last weekend of spring break. A few hours before check-in and on out way to Atlanta from South Carolina we we're notified that the pool was inspected that morning and was being treated and couldn't be used for another 2-3 days (after our visit). Considering this was one of the only reasons we rented this property, we were highly disappointed and didn't have time to cancel our reservation and possibility go elsewhere because this is definitely apart of the pricing when looking for a property. After arriving we discovered the 3rd bathroom shower was clogged was drained and couldn't be used as well as the downstairs (finished basement), where the kids were staying as extremely cold as if the HVAC wasn't routing to the rooms down there.
Positives: The host was kind and responsive by email. The beds were comfortable. The house accommodates a lot of people. Negatives: Unfortunately, the house was in poor condition. When we arrived, there were cigarette butts and other litter outside in front of the front door and along the sidewalk. The hinges were loose on one of the bathroom doors, causing it not to close properly. The toilet paper holders were not affixed properly. One of the shower doors was completely off track and when I contacted the owner, he did not send anyone to fix it, despite us needing to use that shower because of us having a disabled person needing to use that shower. We could not locate paper towels, dish towels, oven mitts and other kitchen necessities like wooden spoons. The coffee maker did not work. There was a shoe print on a guest bedroom wall with cockroach guts still stuck to the wall. Conclusion: The house has promise. The way it is being managed is problematic. The cleaning crew is not doing a good job. When I communicated with the owner/manager about the problem that needed attention because of my disabled father, he apologized and offered us a late checkout. Sorry, but that didnât help. We needed the shower door fixed so he could take a shower.
