Chillin' By The River

About this space
The house sits off a quiet country road on 17-acres in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range bordering the Bear River. We are located 9 miles from Old Town Auburn and 1 hour from Lake Tahoe. The suite is approximately 600 sq ft and attached to the main house with its own private entrance. It’s perfect for a single or couple, and comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults. It is suitable for long term stays.

The space
You will enter through a touch pad door lock into your newly remodeled suite that boasts modern décor and finishes throughout. There is a full-size kitchen with anything you may need to prepare a home cooked meal. The kitchen has a microwave, electric stove top with oven, toaster, Keurig and coffee pot (with some coffee and tea included), refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans, electric can opener, and other cooking essentials.

The living room has a sofa that pulls out into a queen size bed, a coffee table which has assorted games in it, dining/worktable with two chairs, TV with movie channels and prerecorded content, DVD player, and breathtaking views through the large windows that are the best view in the house overlooking the river. Sit on the couch and enjoy the view with the windows open where you can hear the sounds of the river.

The bedroom has a ceiling fan with a queen pillow-top mattress and views of the mountains. There is a full bathroom with a single vanity, standing shower, and toilet. We provide plush towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hairdryer.

There is a closet with hangers, ironing board and an iron under the bathroom sink. Additional pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels can be found in the kitchen pantry next to the refrigerator. The pillows, sheets, and blankets can be used for the sofa that pulls out into a queen size bed.

Above the living room table, you’ll see a round Nest thermostat where you can adjust the forced heating & air-conditioning to your comfort. WIFI is provided with speeds up to 300 Mbps.

Guest access
Parking for one or two vehicles is provided next to the suite entrance. A Level 2 Siemens US2 VersiCharge Universal car charger is available for EV vehicles.

River access
If you would like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the house all the way to the river. The riverfront has lounge chairs and a picnic table. The riverbank has small, rounded pebbles and rocks so water shoes are suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed). The river is less than a quarter mile from the house. If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle you can drive to the river, otherwise it’s an easy 5-minute walk downhill with a moderate walk uphill back to the house. Enjoy the views of the river, forest, and wildlife.

We have a campsite by the river that has picnic tables, lounge chairs, a gas BBQ, fire-pit, porta potty, and a basketball hoop. The campsite can be rented separately by searching Vrbo for "Private River Oasis"
