A Gem of a Find

Pros: Everything
Cons: Cannot think of a thing.
Location: Great location to universities, as well as the Central Business District, and to stores of all type and restaurants. Recommend.
Staff and management incredibly professional, gracious, attentive to your needs, both actual and perceived, pleasant and effective. From first greeting to last good bye. I have stayed at hotels where the Staff was exceptional, as here, but have stayed at precious few where management goes out of way to interact with guests and personally handle any need as management did at the Pullman. Got to hotel early and realized chances of room being ready, 4 hours before Check-In time and was prepared to check bags and start exploring, though very tired. As expected, after the Front Desk checked with Housekeeping, we were told that no room was presently available and received a very sincere apology for their not having an early room. After we checked bags, but before we had walked out, we were approached by a manager responsible for guest needs. She asked us to please wait a moment, got us some great cold water and after checking and speaking with others, advised that she had a room for us. What a treat to get into room and clean up before hitting the exploration trail. She also gave us complimentary wine vouchers and made sure our luggage got to our room, even came up to room to insure that we settled in and to offer any assistance that we might require. We saw her and other Front/Conceirge Staff often during our stay and in each case were addressed by our last name. While certainly not an inexpensive hotel, for what we received, the cost was well worth it. Great value.

Excellent stay.

Pros: Free breakfast, Quiet
Stayed in a suite with my boyfriend. Service was awesome. We did have problems ordering a movie one night, but the staff was efficient in getting the problem solved! Would stay again in a heartbeat. Clean, comfortable and gorgeous view of the harbor.

A great hotel in a great location.

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
My friend and I stayed there for nearly a week in April of 2010. It was great. The hotel was nice, clean and had a great staff. It is located just a few blocks from the bay, so a lot of great activites and restaurants are in easy walking distance. It was a great hotal for a great value.

Would stay again and I would recommend to my friends. Good location

Cons: No free Internet
We were met with the news that the hotel had been sold to another firm, but they honored our reservations, even upgrading us to a suite. Thankfully, we had prepaid so they took care of us. The front desk personnel were friendly and very helpful in arranging tours concellations for us. The hotel restaurant had exceptional food and wine choices. Since we were rained in our last night in Auckland, we chose to eat there and were very pleasantly surprised. The location was great and within walking distance of many attractions, including the shopping area of Queen's Street. The Hop on Hop off stop was just a short walk from the door of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a perfect home base for our five day stay.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
The Hyatt Regency is so close to many downtown attractions, we rarely needed public transportation. We felt welcomed by every member of their staff and enjoyed the spa that is adjacent to the hotel. I would definately stay at this hotel again!

A great place to stay

The Hyatt Regency was a wonderful hotel, in a great location, near shopping, easily accessible to the port, the ferry, the buses. We were within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see. The staff was very helpful with directions and questions. The amenities were beautiful. Our suite was spacious and great. It overlooked Albert Park and had a beautiful view. We had complimentary fruit, wine and cake in our room a nice touch! The Hop on, Hop off bus was close by and a great way to travel the city. The food at the hotel was very expensive, so you would want to eat in the downtown area where there is a large variety of restaurants. I would recommend this hotel in a minute.

Hyatt Auckland

Great expereince. Room and king bed were very comfortable. Customer service outstanding. Manager was very responsive to an issue that came up during our stay. Although we weren't in the Viaduct area we could see the harbour from the room, which was very nice. Only negative was the cost of Internet per day, should be included in the price of the room, or the use of the busines center by guests should not incur a cost.

Very nice stay

Overnighted from the airport. Comfortable room. Wonderful bed! Conveniently located near downtown and adjacent to the university. Easy walking to restaurants and parks (but there are hills). Breakfast included anything you might want. Our only concern that, as swimmers, we would have preferred a warmer pool. We would stay again, especially at the low rate surprising for this nice a facility.

Overall, quite good

We arrived before check in time, but they found another room for us if we wanted it. It was near the elevator, and they said it may be noisy, but we heard nothing. The staff was very friendly and professional. They were helpful to first time visitors by offering points of interest, providing maps of downtown, arranging shuttle and cab service, and were just generally courteous. The location was perfect., about 3 blocks from Queen Street. It was close, but not so close that it was noisy outside the room. The only real downside was the price of the restaurant food. The breakfsats were good, but very, very expensive. All of the food was very expensive. The room itself was smallish, but nice. Good bed, clean room, all necessary amenities. We stayed on the 9th fllor and never heard anything but the wind and rain. The next time we go to Auckland, I expect we'll stay here again, but eat elsewhere.

overall

The staff was superb. Beds were extremely comfortable and the pool and spa were awesome. If you can get the Regency Club continental breakfast and or'dorves, both are worth it. Location was across the street from the university and walking distance to shopping. (about 20-25 minutes from the Viaduct) We stayed here 2 nights and actually returned from Rotoura for 2 more nights. I have no negatives at all about this lovely hotel and their staff.
