This is a stunning location beside the fjord, where the boats and buses come in. We had an outstanding dinner at the Seafood restaurant, which was really unexpected. Unfortunately the accommodation did not nearly live up to this standard. We were shocked at how very basic it was, considering how much we were charged. We had paid extra for a “Viking Suite” and got a room like in a very cheap motel, that was quite crummy. We stayed at a very nice hotel in Bergen the night before, for less than half the price and ten times better quality. Not worth it. Dinner at their seafood restaurant was the best thing about our stay, and the breakfast was pretty good, but the room is much too expensive for the standard offered. I normally only post a review when I have something positive to say, but I feel people should be warned

Lovely surroundings and scenery! Fits into surroundings without a negative impact on nature. In need of upgrades just as privacy hedge or wall between lobby building and sleeping quarters. In need of some sort of shade for large beautiful skylights.

The room is very basic, having some smells made my husband sneeze a lot. Opened windows to get fresh air but it is the first floor so can’t do that when we going out.

Convenient place to stay if you want to visit the Hardangerfjord area fjords . They have a great breakfast buffet that is constantly refilled as eggs or pastries are gobbled up. We took a ferry to Flam and the train up the hill ftom there

We booked a two bedroom which was very spacious for three adults. It was not by the water but on the road, but still had beautiful views. The really big downside is that the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. My husband slipped on a step in the middle of the night and hurt himself. And it was generally inconvenient to get ready for bed and get dressed in the morning. We were leaving early to go ziplning, and even though we arrived at 8pm the person who checked us in happily collected some sandwiches and a juice for us to take in the morning. However the actual breakfast buffet, which we had the next day, is very average quality.

We liked.the peaceful location. It meant a 20 mins bus from Flam but was worth it. Lovely seafood restaurant on the wharf looking down the fjord. Good service and nice seafood.

Lots of steep steps to property and in the apartment itself. Short walk to main property for meals. Delicious breakfast. Extremely quiet and you couldn't beat the view of the fjords and mountains. Recommend.

The views are amazing they make the stay worth it. The view and decor in the rooms are fun but thats about it. If you are looking for comfort or functionality the viking rooms are not for you.The beds are like stone. They do not offer do not disturb and they have maid service everyday-no option to opt out. There are a lot of activities to choose from and its also full of tourists in and out with the different cruise and ferry boats. The Restaurants are just ok. The bakery and a la carte restaurants are the best out of them all. The viking village is fun and priced for tourists. All in all we loved the views and the fjord, everything else is just average.

Conveniently located where the boat docks, and where the buses/coaches -drop and start from. Walkable to reception where we were handled in a very pleasant manner. Given a Viking room with an excellent view of the waterfalls. Provided with eye masks as they have a skylight. If you like a dark room then you need to use them, as the at this time of year, not very much darkness. Ear plugs were provided as well. Room had a bed, chairs, tables, tv, kettle with some cups and coffee, plus small amount of information. Bathroom - shower, toilet, sink, towels, shower gel/soap. Interesting vegetation on roof. Room was decorated well however small areas in corners and around window, could be looked at to improve. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Relaxing night would recommend saying there.

A Magical Stay. Life changing and Unforgettable

I know they didn't create the view, but it was hard not to think you were in paradise the entire time. The breakfast was my absolute favorite. The close proximity to Viking Village makes this place a 'must stay'. We stayed in one of the 'less fancy' cabins... but because of the view we still felt spoiled.
