Parking is crazy over charged. Couldn’t get out of garage the two days I was there. Was charged 42 for parking plus self service parking which was 53 dllrs. Receptionist did refund me the two charges but evening night secretary’s are just rude. Told me they could not do anything about charges for parking and told me it was my fault. Rooms are nice and clean. Very retro. But customer service in the evenings needs Jesus. They rude and have no sympathy towards customers.

It was not disclosed until check-in that parking was $50. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean and cute. Very thin walls. I could hear guest next door talking and partying until 11pm.

The place is too noisy, it seems sound insulation is not done properly. Be careful that the advertised price is inaccurate as it does not include $52 parking fee or $59 in case you want to use valet.

The Downright Austin is conveniently located near all the action but not in the middle of it. This means that you can walk to the bars and restaurants, but it's quiet at night. The rooms at the Downright lack storage space. Our room had no dressers or drawers and no place to store clothing.
