Year round fun for all ages at a huge lakefront property just 79 miles from Minneapolis with easy access off I-94! Relax at a 4,000+ SF home that features a private dock with a sandy private beach, non-motorized water toys and a gaming garage while comfortably sleeping up to 17 guests!

OUTSIDE SPACE: The home is mere steps from the water of Middle Spunk Lake! The wrap-around deck and 4-season sun room provides plenty of places to relax. There's also 8 poly Adirondack chairs to use in the yard, which features two fire pits. A 36-inch Blackstone griddle is on site along with a basketball hoop, scooters, bean bag toss, bocce ball set and more. Five inflatable SUPs and a 6x20 splash pad will also be on site for guests to use, along with kayaks.

MIDDLE SPUNK LAKE: 89 feet of lake frontage with new riprap shoreline and a hard sandy bottom that's shallow for dozens of feet and perfect for kids to play. The lake itself is 236 acres with average water clarity of 13 feet, which the state classifies as "good" to "very good." It's a popular recreational lake with solid fishing and public boat access just down the street from this property!

GARAGE: The heated and insulated attached garage with a new epoxy floor has been converted into a game haven. A high-end 9-foot shuffleboard table is the headliner, but other options include the classic 4-player NBA Jam arcade game plus a Pac Man machine with 14 game options. Multiple reclining couches provide plenty of seating to kick back and relax in front of the 55" smart TV. Open the garage door to watch the kids hoop while enjoying a cold beverage from the full size garage fridge!

MAIN FLOOR: Open sight lines from front to back with tons of seating options! The main level of this rambler features the best of both worlds — open concept with options to close doors for private spaces. Cuddle up with the 14-foot wide power leather sectional in front of the 75" smart TV or pull up a chair at one of two large dining tables, including a beautiful epoxy one from Europe. There's also a sunken fire pit with another comfy couch and 55" smart TV that kids will love.

If you prefer privacy, the coffee nook has a settee and can be closed off from the main living area. The sun room overlooking the water can also be closed off for privacy — and has amazing views of the sunset!

The fully-stocked kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances has granite tops and everything guests should expect from a long-time Superhost — blender, crock pot, air fryer, frother for coffee and more!

BASEMENT: A third dining table is available in the basement with 6 chairs adjoining a third living room that's set up with a 6-seat LoveSac couch, a 55" smart TV and an Xbox with some popular games like Minecraft, Paw Patrol racing, NBA Live 2k23, Fifa '23 and more. There's also a kitchenette in the basement with a microwave, mini fridge and another Kuerig.

Excellent Weekend

A group of friends get together for a long-ish weekend retreat every spring. The property was everything that was promised. Plenty of space, exceptionally comfortable and far more amenities than we could get through in just 2 days. Host made it incredibly easy to work out details and had everything we needed ready before we even asked. Access codes, passwords, tips on supplies and features and options in the area as well.

CSB/SJU Parent Weekend

We had a group of parents stay at the Big Bear Lake Home for parent weekend at CSB/SJU. We had an absolute blast. The accommodations were wonderful. Brett has used every inch of that place. There were so many fun nooks and crannys. He's thought of everything. It was fun to have a place to all gather. The location was great from both St Bens, and St Johns. Brett was very responsive to messages, a great host! Check in/Check out process was easy. Highly recommended! We are already looking forward to next year!

Family Reunion

We had a long weekend in August and a great time was had by all. Massive number of sleeping spaces and so many games and water toys…for a large family who has rented over 10 different cabins like this- it was our favorite large cabin! Great communication too.

Fabulous Home! Favorite Summer spot ever!

We loved our stay here. From the beautiful home, to the great lake and view. There were 8-11 of us (depending on the day), and we had plenty of space. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus the extras most places don't have. The beds were VERY comfortable - from the bedding to the mattresses. We really appreciated the different tables for dining. We kept one for meals and used the others for games. The favorite spot by far, was the screen porch. We kept the windows open to catch the breeze and hear the loons. First spot that everyone headed to when they first got up in the morning, and the last place to hang in the evening to watch the sunset. Loved the coffee area, too. The Maui mat was a hit! We brought our own boat, and the dock had plenty of room to keep it safely tied up. The water was clear, and we could watch the little fish swimming. Catching the fish off the dock was the most popular pastime of the week. The teens loved the Bear Cave. There was just so much to love about this place. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. We will be back next summer!

Wonderful!

The house was lovely, very clean and nicely decorated. The lake was beautiful with loons calling and a wonderful breeze coming off the lake. The games were a big hit as were all the places to just enjoy the views. We had a rainy stay, but we loved the stay and house. Brett was a super helpful host and he was very easy to work with on the rental and checkout. Fantastic!

Fantastic Stay in Avon!

This home was perfect for us! We had multiple families with several small children (3 years to 10 years). The home is beautifully kept with a lovely great room for gathering and a garage game room for kid romps. The wrap around deck and gorgeous lake shore made a great setting for morning coffee from the coffee nook. The bedrooms are set apart, including a cozy basement bedroom, which easily allowed for different family schedules without noise. Oh, and there is a playground and beautiful new pickleball court within a short walk of the house. Brett was a great host, and we would absolutely stay again. Our group has stayed in many different spaces over the years before kids and after, and I can honestly say that this Avon location is our favorite space.

Stress free stay

So much space. Plenty of room for groups to spread out or get together. 3 large tables/chairs for eating or playing board games. Comfortable beds, linens, and towels. We enjoyed the game room. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful grounds and lake. We look forward to next time.
