The Lynwood Inn was ideally suited for our Celtic Colours visit. It was well located for events for that festival and for the shops and restaurants in Baddeck. Our room was large and comfortable. We had both a refrigerator and microwave. The staff was helpful and made our week long visit quite pleasant.

Well located excellently done hotel

Pros: The room; the view; the restaurant.
Cons: Being picky: bigger, fluffier towels in the bathroom. A more extensive wine list.
Location: Bras D'Or Lake probably has water activities, but we didn't check them out. Cape Breton Highlands Park the real attraction.
Rooms are spacious, well furnished and comfortable. There are views of the Bras d'Or Lake, which is within easy walking distance. The hotel is right on the edge of Baddeck's main street, so the information center is right across the street, and shops and restaurants within a block or two. The hotels own restaurant is very nice, with a view from the terrace portion. The hotel is right by the Cabot Trail, which goes through the spectacular Cape Breton Highlands National Park; the circuit can be done in a day, stopping at the overlooks but not for long hikes.

Pros: Location was great. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Dinner was mediocre.
Location: Alexander Graham Bell Museum is in this town. It's very interesting.
This was a good location just off the Cabot Trail. Went to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum during a rainy day. It was very interesting.

Nice Hotel on the Cabot Trail

Location: On the Cabot Trail. <1 km to the Alexander Graham Bell museum, a must see.
Nice hotel with a restaurant located in Baddeck, a town on the Cabot Trail. The location was beautiful and it was great jumping off point for driving the Cabot Trail. The bathroom came with a jetted tub. It was very quiet and located in the center of Baddeck.

Charming Hotel

Pros: Location, charm, cleanliness.
Cons: Tea/coffee maker in the room.
Location: Cabot Trail, Bell Museum, Amoeba boat trip
We stayed here one night and I wish I had planned my Cabot Trail trip to stay here at least one more. We stayed in the McDermid Building. Lovely antiques and a firm bed. We were on the second floor so opened a window for the night and it was very quiet even on a main street. We didn't have a balcony but could see the lake from our window. Baddeck is a lovely little town. There's a grocery store which may be one of the better stocked along the trail. Be aware, there is no elevator and apparently no one to help with bags. There is no coffee maker in the room but a convenience store next door to get your morning caffeine.
