Lucy's Cottage has Exceptional views of the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains with majestic sky views, nestled in the Pisgah National Forest and close to the Roan Mountain with endless hiking trails on the AP. Close by are trout streams, rivers for tubing, mountains for skiing, small towns with seasonal festivals and many farm-to-market restaurants, as well as craft breweries.
This place was better than we expected! The private drive in beautiful and with awesome views! No other house anywhere in sight so itâs very private. The owners were very helpful with directions for finding the place as well! We will definitely stay again!
Why the three-star review? I will explain. First, the property was exactly as depicted in the photos and description. It was quiet, comfortable, and on our visit, the trees in their fall colors provided a stunning view. So far, this seems to be shaping up as a 5 star review, it would be but for the following. The host entered the property COMPLETELY unannounced. An unacceptable violation in my opinion. They claimed they forgot that they had visitors. Visitors that paid mind you. This was on day seven of our eight day stay. What makes this even more egregious, two days earlier the owners entered the house (which was communicated) to do a very trivial maintenance item of replacing a switch on a gas fireplace that was functioning fine for us. This would not have been worth even mentioning except for the person who entered urinated in the toilet without flushing as confirmation that someone had entered, or perhaps a reminder we were not staying at the Four Seasons. In any event, this was a completely trivia repair that could and should have waited until we left, and the home was not occupied. Entering the home two times during our stay needlessly, one being without any form of communication, removed the sense of privacy which is the exact reason we paid for the stay. We are a middle-aged couple and this behavior made us feel that we were being âchecked-in onâ as if we were spring break teens displaying bad behavior.
