Northern MI Lake Cottage Getaway

Experience peace and serenity at this Northern Michigan lake cottage getaway!

Nugent lake is a no wake/motor lake with plenty of activities including fishing, kayaking, paddle-boating or just relaxing with a bonfire on the beach :)

The cottage has been recently updated and offers plenty of space for guests. Walkout basement offers additional amenities for your stay.

Approx. 30 min. from beautiful Ludington, minutes from Baldwin and the Little O ORV trails, making this a perfect location!

*The space*

- Queen size bed upstairs with large bedroom (sleeps 2)

- Walkout basement provides a half bath, separate finished bedroom space equipped with a bunk bed (sleeps [2] - twin on top, twin on bottom) and (2) separate twin beds - plenty of space for the kids or larger families!

- (2) kayaks (1 sit-in and 1 sit-on-top)

- Floating "lily pad" Foam Pad mat (12'x6') for fun times on the beach!

- (2) person paddle-boat located on our beach

- Corn hole game set to play on the beach (game located in basement)!

- Fishing poles, gear and tacklebox

- Propane grill on deck

Note: there are (2) doorbell-type security cameras located near the front and rear doors of the cottage for added security for our guests.

Super relaxing little spot!

We loved this place! It was nice, clean and comfortable. Its pretty quiet during the week, I think must folks there just come up on weekends. We basically had the lake to our selves. Ludington is just 30 min west, lots of stuff to do there if you wanna go out. Went to the sand dunes and rented side by sides and it was a BLAST !!!!! Every one in gang was saying how much fun they had as we were pulling out.

Great Getaway!

My husband and I went with our four kids (ages 4-11) and our little weiner dog for a few nights. We had a great time enjoying the beach and playing games. My kids absolutely loved the beach, sand toys, paddle boat, and kayaks that were provided. It was so nice that the owners also provided several different sizes of life jackets and more beach towels than you could possibly need. We brought food and ended up not even leaving the cabin - it was so nice to just be there and relax!

Great getaway

It was exactly what we were looking for, a getaway on the quiet lake. We got to kayak and use the paddle boat. The water was clean and perfect for swimming. I would stay here again. We brought our pups with and they got to enjoy the water and swim.

Lake House

House and lake were wonderful. Kids had a blast playing in the water with the various toys provided. Also enjoyed the paddleboat. Games in the basement were great for the rainy day. Our kids loved their own room with the bunk beds. The only issues we had were with the constant ATV's running around the lake, at times late into the night, side by side's, and a generator running next door. However, we should note this was the week of the 4th of July so I'm sure it was busier than normal. Overall we still had a great time and would consider coming back. The owners thought of everything one could need during your stay.

Guy’s weekend

Perfect for a guy’s weekend. My husband and his friends loved the dock for fishing. Communication with the owners was pleasant and timely. I was told that it brought back great memories of weekends at the cabin when they were younger. They are looking forward to yearly trips in the future.

Family Fun

Property was clean and just like the pictures showed. Lake and beach area very nice and clean. Family enjoyed the lake days and venturing out on the SxS for trail days. Overall great stay plenty to do and very accommodating.

Rocky start

Perhaps we were just unlucky with timing, but our stay didn't meet expectations. The first-floor air conditioning units (which were not shown in pictures) couldn't keep us comfortable the first few nights; there were some power outages while we were sleeping and out of the house that seem to be related. And we were surprised by construction the first few days on the 3-mile dirt road in to the lake, which made it especially cumbersome to go anywhere. The twin bunk bed in the basement wasn't very sturdy, and squeaked loudly any time the kid sleeping there moved, disrupting the other kid's sleep. The thin mattress made the futon there a poor alternative. Equally disappointing was the hosts' insistence that our concerns weren't valid because they had many good reviews on the other major booking platform (which we hadn't seen). We had relied on their description, which we didn't believe to be fully accurate. On the plus side, the lake was beautiful, the house was cute -- with a new kitchen and bathrooms, and the hosts had provided a lot of amenities to help keep us entertained.

Nice and quiet

We really enjoyed our stay. Lake was nice and the paddle boat and kayaks were a plus. The cabin is large and plenty of fun things to do
..Note: the road to get into the lake is dirt and very bumpy so I found that the longer route in to be much better (less bumps)

Peaceful and quiet relaxation

The cabin is very well maintained and updated on a private lake. The hosts provide everything you need for fun and/or relaxation, just bring some food and beverages and you are all set. Very nice quiet lake. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the water and was fascinated by the geese and loons, he even made a friend with one of the resident's dogs while going for a walk. We didn't notice the road that runs between the cabin and the beach in the pictures, which is on us for not looking more closely. However, it didn't have too much traffic but as the weekend got closer there were 4 wheelers and golf carts traveling it more often. I would definitely recommend staying here, the hosts are very nice, the cabin has everything you need and the scenery is beautiful. Just sit back and enjoy!

Great low key getaway!

If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay, this is it. We wanted a private beach quiet safe and clean getaway and this provided it!! Very low key quiet lake - we felt like we were the only family there! Beach area is clean with minimal sea weed/rocks. Great fire pit and dock right there. The kids and parents enjoyed just playing swimming and fishing at the private beach for days. Hosts provide all the items needed for fun days at the beach. The cabin is well maintained with all the items you need to make a nice relaxing trip. Kids loved the basement room with bunk and TV. Hosts were very responsive and provided easy access to the home and great service.

Wonderful, peaceful cottage

My family spent 4 days in this wonderful cottage. The cottage was spotless and it supplied most things you could think of. The view of the lake was amazing. We loved the private beach and dock. We spent a lot of time on the beach and fishing off the dock. We loved the use of the paddle boat. The neighbors were friendly and the lake was so peaceful. We had a bon fire and it was so helpful having all the needed supplies by the fire pit. We would definitely want to stay here again.

Summer 2022

Really enjoyed our stay on Lake Nugent. Enjoyed swimming, fishing, and cooking out for the weekend. Our two dogs enjoyed it as well. The house had all the essentials and was very well kept.
