The idyllic Bode Valley, the towns of Quedlinburg and Wernigerode or the Hexentanzplatz (witches' dancing place) in Thale are within easy reach. Further excursion destinations include: Narrow-gauge railway to the Brocken, Rübeländer stalactite caves, Aschersleben Zoo or, in the immediate vicinity, the unique rock formation of the Gegensteine.
