Fraud alert! This is not an ordinary hotel; rather it is a homeless shelter that masquerades as a hotel to top up their revenue.
We were first given a room that had the worst smell I've smelled in years. It was as though someone vomited out corn chips, dumped a pint of blood on top, and then left it to rot for weeks in the summer sun. The front desk, friendly but indifferent to the conditions, switched us rooms, which seems to be a routine occurrence.
As we were moving our baggage to the next room, we realized that the transients frequenting the parking lot were actually other guests. We noticed odd behaviour that made our children uncomfortable. We booked a different hotel in town for the night and go out ASAP. The other residence seemed to have seen this before.
We were out the cost of the Bellis Inn. Save yourself some money and book somewhere else to start with!
Finally, be careful where you book. Travelocity may be putting your and your family's safety at risk by sending you to a property that is actually a shelter for people with drug addictions. I am in favour of providing support for such people in need, but this is no place for families!
