A great family get away

We enjoyed our stay and having a view of the ocean. A short walk to water was great even though we were having winter at the time of our stay. Some of us also enjoyed the hot tub experience and or just lounging in basement. We had our kids and grandkids there and we all want to be back for the summer months.

Great house for a large group

We had a great late fall getaway to South Haven & this house worked out great. The lower level is a great spot to hang out. The house was well stocked and clean. The owner was very responsive to our questions.

Great Spot!

We really enjoyed our time here at this VRBO. It was probably 100 feet or less from a great local bakery and coffee shop that had Starbucks coffee. Very clean location and spacious. Great view of the lake and close, walkable location to downtown. The owner was very communicative and flexible. We really enjoyed our stay!

great location to lake/beach and downtown limited outside space basement area is much cooler than upstairs when running the air conditioner for the high price we paid, the amenities should be first class such as cleanliness, kitchen, baths, linens, etc

Great property

The house was everything as advertised. 11 in our group from grandparents to 9 year old. The pool and the hot tub were the major satisfaction items. Communication with the host was easy and timely. The location in regards to North beach, three parks, and downtown was superb in that all were easy walks. Parking was good. Actual house was clean and recently (couple of years) renovated with new appliances. We ate in all dinners.

We had a great family stay. In the summer, this would have been a very busy and possibly noisy area, but during the winter was quiet and peaceful. Very close to the lake! Hot tub and game room were awesome.

Wonderfully Furnished

This South Haven home offered everything our family of 14 were looking to have. The new pool and area were well furnished with umbrellas and tables for eating and relaxing. Location is perfect with a few minute walk to the beach. Local bakery was a 2 minute walk. Julia, our host was more than gracious with her time and the furnishings in this home. Towels, linens, appliances, kitchenware were all luxurious, and in abundant supply. This home offered more than the average beach rental. Kids enjoyed pool table and ping pong table in lower level. It is a very comfortable and accommodating home hosted by very gracious people.

Beautiful home in an Amazing Location!

Just had a Great stay in this spacious home and my entire group of 15 decided it is our favorite home in SH - we will be back! The house was clean & updated with quality furnishings. We loved the open layout and the bedrooms/bathrooms worked out perfectly. Location is a plus - we didn't use our cars all week as we walked everywhere. Walking back & forth to the beautiful beach makes it a true vacation (only a 3 minute walk which the kids loved) and it's only a 5 minute walk to the marina & new Michigan Maritime Museum which we loved! We spent a lot of time in the backyard & on the patio with the fun firepit table. Loved the Lake Michigan views! Host Julia was perfect & we really appreciated all the sand toys & basement games.

Quiet Escape

The home is tucked in between several condos, but feels very secluded. We had 12 people with our group and had plenty of space. There are 4 different gathering areas inside the house for small conversations. The large dining room table allowed everyone to eat together as well. I would recommend this home if you are looking for a great vacation home.

Extended family vacation

15 of us ranging in age from 10-82 stayed here for a week. The house was charming and clean. The basement was amazing for all the kids. Late at night or when it rained they had plenty to do with ping pong and so much space! I loved that it had bedrooms and a bathroom down there as well. The other nice amenity was the back porch with table, chairs and fire table. It was such a nice space to gather in the evenings. The location was an easy walk to the town with shopping and restaurants and of course a quick two minute walk to the beach, I would stay here again!

Winter Getaway with Family

We all loved the house and the location. When it was raining, the kids loved playing pool, ping pong and games in the rec room while the adults relaxed upstairs. Plenty of space for everyone. After the snow, we went down the block to go sledding and build snowmen in the park and on the beach. Thumbs up from all ages.

10th anniv blended family vacation

This was a wonderful place to gather as a family with a lot of young children. Having a yard and a full basement and being close to the beach is a great combination for families. The adults also felt spoiled with lovely spaces to call their own, a well appointed kitchen and gathering spaces both inside and out. I would rent this home again!

Perfect place for family!!!

Our family includes infants up to a 93 yr old and we could not have had a more perfect place to spend our beach vacation. From a fenced in back yard with plenty of seating and fire table to dining and lounging space inside to spacious bedrooms and fun finished basement... it was super great!!! The owner was so wonderful to communicate with and easily accessible.

Renter beware. Read all of the rental agreement!

Before putting a deposit down on this property, know that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, including a pandemic, will you be able to get your deposit back. We put our deposit down in December (50% of the rental cost) so of course that was before the pandemic. When March rolled around and things were bad, I contacted Julia about getting our money back. We were traveling with a 73 year old and a 67 year old who had previous open heart surgery. With them being such high risk, we were concerned about travel. Julia told me to go back and read the contract (she will not provide your deposit back even if an act of God keeps you away!) I could not believe that she would keep our money . I understand cancellation policies, but it was a pandemic, and we were more than 90 days out - it didn't matter, she wouldn't budge! We were offered a stay at a different time (between Sept and May.) That was unfair because we were paying July rates and several of us are educators who do not have the flexibility to travel during the school year, and don't want to go on a beach vacation during the fall/winter. I asked about changing the reservation to July 2021 - she would not do that. All of the options given were to Juia's advantage and were in no way aimed at helping us out. We have booked many VRBO properties before and nobody has such a ridiculous policy. I can see losing a percentage of the deposit or having a small cancellation fee, but what business person would keeps 50% of a customer's money? We couldn't afford to go anywhere else knowing we were going to lose all that money so we went. The house was poorly cleaned. I will say the bedding felt clean, but that was it. The floors were grimy, the refrigerator had mold in it and the freezer was full of dirt. The kitchen sink also had a ring of mold around it. We cleaned the place upon arrival because we are people who like a clean place and when paying such a high price for a week you would think you would get an immaculate place. We didn't-the corners of the house were filthy, the window ledge in the kitchen had a bunch of dirt on it, the shower floors felt dirty. The extra blankets in the closets had to be washed because they were clearly dirty. There is a cleaning fee and we left the place cleaner than we found it for sure! This house has a great location, but only rent if you can afford to lose your money and want to clean upon arrival. Also, check the sleeping arrangements clearly - the beds are strangely arranged.
