Located in a quiet courtyard separating it from the main building, this former little workshop with its own entrance and stairway holds a secluded, two-story apartment. On the ground floor you'll find a small living room with a kitchenette and two single sleeping couches. Following a small winding staircase into the basement, you'll get to a bathroom with a shower plus a separate toilet as well as the main bedroom with a queen size. This setup makes the apartment a perfect retreat for up to four persons. Street parking is free, Wi-Fi included.

The neighborhood is popular with young people from all over the world, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, bars, specialty shops etc all around. A large organic food store and a typical German discounter are also within walking distance as is a large weekly open air market along an idyllic canal. The subway (U1) is less than ten minutes away and a major bus line about five minutes.

An dieser Wohnung scheiden sich die Ansichten: Lage ist super, Wohnung wirklich ruhig, frisch saniert mit moderner Ausstattung und freundlichem Gastgeber. Leider mit Kellerflair. Den Geruch bemerkt man schon an der EingangstĂŒr und da hilft leider auch kein LĂŒften. Der Schlafraum ist im aushebauten Keller ĂŒber eine sehr schmale Wendeltreppe erreichbar. Wer geruchsempfindlich ist, kann hier weder essen noch schlafen. So ist mein Mann nach einer Nacht frĂŒher abgereist und es wurde nichts aus der zweisamen Woche in Berlin. So können wir die Wohnung niemandem empfehlen, der den Geruch nicht ausblenden kann. Man sollte nicht jeden Raum als Wohnraum ausbauen, schon gar nicht zu diesem Preis.

Great location and stay

We enjoyed staying here for three weeks this summer. The apartment's location can't be beat- we loved staying in Kreuzberg and being so close to the U-Bahn and great restaurants. The only thing that I will mention is that the basement/bedroom of the apartment is very cold and quite damp. This was not a problem for my partner, but I struggled to sleep comfortably because of it. The bathroom needs a lot of attention to keep it dry because the basement is so damp, but again, not a deal breaker by any means. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay and a great apartment. The communication with the owners was easy and prompt. Would recommend staying here, just be sure to pack extra layers if you are prone to being cold!

Perfekt fĂŒr eine Woche

Mein Sohn und ich haben uns in dieser in einem Hinterhof gelegenen Wohnung sehr, sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt, alles war sauber, nichts hat gefehlt. Die Lage ist wunderbar, nette CafĂ©s und Restaurants sowie der Landwehrkanal mit buntem Markttreiben in unmittelbarer NĂ€he. Das Viertel lĂ€dt zum Entdecken ein und ist ideal fĂŒr alle, die bereits in Berlin waren und Lust auf Neues haben. U-Bahn Stationen sind aber auch nicht weit entfernt, in der Stadtmitte ist man also schnell. Wir waren mit unserem Hund unterwegs. Auch hier war Berlin einfach nur easy going. Was die Wohnung angeht, sollte man jedoch wissen und eventuell bedenken, dass die Wendeltreppe zum Schlafzimmer ins Souterrain sehr eng und sehr steil ist. Unser Hund hat anstandslos oben geschlafen, ist es aber auch gewöhnt, dass er sich in SchlafrĂ€umen nicht aufhalten darf. Alles in allem wirklich empfehlenswert.

Die Beschreibung des Objekts ist stark geschönt: Das Mobiliar ist alt und abgenutzt, die KĂŒchenausstattung zusammengewĂŒrfelt. 3 von 5 Deckenlampen im Erdgeschoß waren defekt, eine weitere im Badezimmer. Toilette und Badezimmer sind winzig klein. Das Handwaschbecken in der Toilette ist kaum grĂ¶ĂŸer als ein Eierkocher. Die EntwĂ€sserung des GebĂ€udes ĂŒber eine Hebeanlage erzeugt merkwĂŒrdige GerĂ€usche. Es riecht intensiv nach Kanalisation. Die Benutzung der filigranen Wendeltreppe zwischen Wohn- und SanitĂ€rbereich erfordert Trittsicherheit und Mut. FĂŒr Mieter mit ausgeprĂ€gter Adipositas und mittelgroße Koffer ist das Untergeschoß unerreichbar. Immerhin: Das WLAN funktioniert, wenn auch nicht rasend schnell. Fazit: Die Wohnung kann nur denjenigen empfohlen werden, die gern mal ein paar Tage im Gully wohnen.

The hosts were accommodating and reasonably friendly. No issues whatsoever with key handoff, checkout and the like. The flat is very basic and leaves a lot to be desired in the comfort category. Upstairs (entry level) is the living/kitchen area with two fold out single beds. I had to request sheets for these as the flat only had meager sheets provided for the bed downstairs. The bathroom and bedroom are down a tight spiral staircase that's not easy to do in the middle of the night or for anyone with a disability/handicap/overweight. Better value available in other apartments in the area for sure. Perfect location, great building. Flat would be much better with better furniture to sit/sleep on. Oh yeah, the shower is really goofy/annoying to figure out, too.

This place is better for 2-3 days, we stayed for 12 days and the musty moldy smell got to me (I am almost 70). The owner was very responsive to fixing the shower drainage. My son and his girlfriend enjoyed the bars nearby. It would have been nice to have a full length mirror.
