I cannot recommend
Most of the rooms are not in the beautiful, historic building you see on the photos, but rather on a huge underground extension they built underneath. Because of the sloped terrain, rooms face the back of the building and don't seem apparent when looking at the original palace building. These rooms are below-grade and face busy train tracks, and they are quite close to them. The noise and, often, the vibration of trains passing by made our stay very unpleasant, it really was hard to get a good sleep. Rooms also feel tired and outdated, but they are otherwise spacious and comfortable. The grounds and surroundings are nice. Very limited parking within the hotel, but we found plenty of space in the hospital's parking lot across the street. I do not recommend the restaurant at the back of this hotel, despite the views and outdoor patio.

Unique beautiful building, short walk to metro to Bilbao, safe parking, staff spoke excellent English, spacious room. Didn’t like restaurant which served the worst meal we’ve had over 10 day vacation. Food was flavorless, meat was terribly dry. Google maps did not find correct location so we hired an Uber to let us follow to the hotel. Streets are difficult if you don’t know the area.

Not a 4 star hotel, very expensive for what offers
Not a 4 star hotel AT ALL! In the room you find not even half liter water bottle, no toothbrush, just some SMALL shower gel and shampoo "bottle". VERY, VERY noizy due to trains passing just couple of meters to hotel. Only one reception stuff understood me that I could not sleep and changed the room. The other ones were arogant, anyway NOT 4 STAR HOTEL EMPLOYEE! When client claims the noise from trains, WE MAKE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO MAKE HIM HAPPY, NOT TELL HIM IMMEDIATELY "NOT POSSIBLE"

That`s the difference.
we enjoyed our four night stay and would book again. the hotel is well documented on various review/hotel sites and generally, we agree with the comments so no repitition required. two things; 1/ stretch your budget and go for the best room configuration possible, 2/ whatever you decide, you will be in the best possible hands- the team of staff here are worthy of 10/10 throughout....from top to bottom, side to side, an impeccable approach to customer service. That`s the difference.
