A beautiful and functional central Texas hideaway with large outdoor deck

Fully renovated in winter 2022. Heron House has waterfront access to the Blanco River. Riverside firepit, a great outdoor deck with a cowboy pool, hot tub, chaise lounges, a shaded lounge area, outdoor games, luxurious linens, and spa-like bathrooms. Relaxation and Texas Hill Country charm. A short 5-minute drive to Blanco's downtown square, Heron House is also conveniently located, with easy access to all the shopping, dining, wineries/breweries/distilleries, and events that lovely Blanco has to offer. Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Wimberley, and Dripping Springs are nearby as is Blanco State Park, Pedernales Falls State Park, and the Hill Country Lavender Farm.

The house is absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. The kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfortable with the best sheets, the backyard has a great turf area for play and yard games available, and the town square with restaurants and shopping is just down the street. One thing we did find out two days prior to check in was that our dog needed to be crated anytime we left the house. This threw a wrench in our plans for a bit, and I wasn't sure how we'd fit a dog crate (because one isn't provided) in our already packed vehicle. Luckily, we found a pen that folds flat and set that up in the spacious laundry room for whenever we left. It had rained prior to our visit, and there were small ants all over the floors of the kitchen and primary bathroom. I vacummed daily while there as the numbers added up quickly, but I wouldn't say it should be anything to deter you from staying here. The house makes up for it.

This oasis in Blanco was more than we had hoped for! Clean cozy and welcoming! Kitchen and bathrooms fully prepared! Outdoor space was amazing and so peaceful! Our host was super responsive and this once in a 7 year girls reunion was made perfect with this hideaway! Would definitely do this again we are so grateful for the hosts amazing and beautiful space!!

4th of July Weekend

Great property with all the amenities of home! Weekend was a rainout and we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor amenities but the home was comfy and cozy. Thankfully there were great restaurants nearby.

Beautiful retreat on the river

From the minute that we entered The Heron House, we were sure by subtle beauty and country elegance. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked. We literally spent hours on the back deck observing wildlife. At dusk, the fireflies rose up from the wooded area and sparkled in the air. It was a lovely stay, and I would definitely stay there again.

Gorgeous home in great location!

Owners were great at communicating and working through a few hick ups with the check in email. Had one thing that was broken at the house which was dishwasher. They stayed in good communication. Sadly a person could not get out while we were there. The house is gorgeous and has a great location. Needs a few maintenance things around the property, but no big deal. We will definitely be back!

Great Find in Hill Country!

House was beautiful and very private! Great patio with shaded couches, lounge chairs, dining table, BBQ grill, plunge pool, hot tub, and gas fire pit. Large turf area for outdoor games! River runs through the back yard! House was excellent and everyone enjoyed their stay. Beds were very comfortable as well!

It’s a very nice and clean house. It’s very easy to communicate with the owner if you have any questions. The way to the second fire pit by the river has a walkway so you’re not walking through the grass which is really nice. Would recommend staying here!

A Perfect Slice of Paradise – We Didn't Want to Leave!

Our recent stay at this beautiful home was nothing short of extraordinary. Every detail, from the thoughtfully chosen fixtures to the stunning decor, exuded comfort and elegance. The bathrooms were stocked with high-quality amenities, and the extra touches throughout the house made it feel like the ultimate country vacation experience. The outdoor patio was an absolute dream, offering breathtaking views that we couldn’t get enough of. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy family time, and soak in the serenity. Our family loved it so much that we ended up extending our stay because leaving just didn’t feel like an option. This home truly surpassed all our expectations, and we can't wait to return. The privacy and the view from the back deck is just so relaxing! The hot tub and fire pit allow you to enjoy the cooler weather outside! The house is clean and very nice! The location is great for the local wineries and distilleries!

Bridal Shower Bliss

Some friends and I hosted a small bridal shower here and it was beautiful!! Exactly like the photos! The only things that were kind of a bother were that guest toilet was broken and that there a bunch of bugs that would fly in any time you opened the door. The host offered to come fix the toilet, however since it was in the middle of the bridal shower we just left it be. Otherwise, it was beautiful! Highly recommend!

Amazing retreat for a family or couple looking for peace of mind

When you see the published pictures your first thought is that they were photoshopped, they are not at all! It’s a nice house, only a few miles from Blanco, Tx. This is a very small community at the Hill Country, 20 to 45 minutes from several rivers, lakes, etc. There is a gas station, a supermarket, hardware store, bbq restaurant, gelato store, etc. everything we would need during our 8 night stay. Everything at the house is top notch, the AC is good even when outside temp is around 105, the bedding is very good quality, the house is fully stocked with toiletries, some snacks, many clean towels, even the first aid kit is complete (we used it actually). The inside areas are all well illuminated during day and night, the Internet access is good (I had some video calls and we certainly used the WiFi a lot), the deck area has a hot tub, a cowboy pool, gas grill, some furniture, etc. The owner kept in touch the whole stay, always answering any question we might have. I wouldn’t complain about anything, the house is better than you can appreciate from the pictures, the owners were wonderful, we really loved our family vacation. If someone would date to complain is only about the fact that the river is basically nonexistent as there is a severe drought since 2023
 Also, the outdoor areas are filled with mosquitoes and everything God created during summer, we didn’t let it bother us but this house is not for people who doesn’t love to be outdoors because it’s basically a

Pleasant Weekend in Blanco

The house, accommodations and grounds were as advertised. We really enjoyed the evenings on the deck grilling steaks, listening to music and enjoying a beverage. The lighting bug show on the grounds at sundown was an unexpected wonderful addition.

Wonderful spot on the river (stream?)

We came with some of our family to visit the cemetery and gravesides of our loved ones gone on before us. The added joy of staying at Herron House that was similar to my parents home when we lived there was very special. We had everything the 6 of us needed to cook and enjoyed the deck and jacuzzi. My husband, son and grandson enjoyed evening talks down close to the river. Thanks so much for sharing Heron House with us!
