You have exclusive use of your own swimming pool and beautiful views of the vines and Richmond Ranges, only minutes from Blenheim, Picton and the Ferry Terminal.

The open plan kitchen, dining and living areas flow directly to the terrace, BBQ, pool and garden - an easy space to cook, read, relax or enjoy shared meals in a peaceful rural setting, yet close to Blenheim’s restaurants, cafés and tasting rooms.

Eliza’s sits within a New Zealand Garden of National Significance, shaped over decades through Kaitiakitanga/Guardianship and an ongoing commitment to the land. Staying here offers a rare chance to immerse yourself in one of the country’s most beautiful private gardens - wander the woodland serenaded by birds, notice the changing colours through the year, and relax on inviting seating in areas designed for connection to nature.

Pets are welcome - dogs especially love exploring the vineyard and garden paths.

Eliza’s embraces sustainability and a natural pace of life - seasonal produce, bird and wildlife, the joy of being outdoors whilst being pampered by thoughtful hosting. Breakfast ingredients are mostly gathered from the property or locally, and the gardens are managed using environmentally conscious methods. Guests often remark that just being there is what makes their stay special.

We live 500 metres down the road in a separate farmhouse, available if you need anything while ensuring complete privacy. With our local knowledge, we’re always happy to recommend wineries, walks, swimming spots, scenic drives and dining. The best local pub and craft brewery is a short stroll from the cottage.

Our home garden at Welton House is also a New Zealand Garden of National Significance. Over the years it has appeared in books, magazines and international garden tours, and has become well known in the horticultural world. While it’s not part of the cottage stay, our Eliza's guests are welcome to visit free of charge at their leisure. It offers a sense of the wider landscape and the history that surrounds Eliza’s.
