The resort all in all was beautiful. The lobby and the bar were warm and cozy and elegant. The Creekside property was gorgeous. Unfortunately, we had two pretty disappointing issues with miscommunication with staff and the website about dining and the spa. I was excited for the spa services specifically the creekside sauna that was advertised on the website and called before arriving to inquire about it and available appointments but the person who answered the phone had no idea what was available to us as guests of the resort nor what services the spa was offering and said to just go to the spa and ask when I got there. When we checked in, I asked again about the sauna and again the person did not know, and the spa was already closed. I went onto the website and to the link for the spa and tried to book an appointment for the next day and it said there were none available which was really disappointing. So I got over it and we moved onto dinner plans at the hotel restaurant that the website said was open until 6 on Sundays which was early but ok but then found out that they closed at 3 on Sundays-ugh- had to get food delivered to our room. Next day and the most disappointing part is that after we packed up and checked out, we took one last walk by the beautiful creek and found the barrel sauna and jacuzzi sitting there for guests of the resort ready to enjoy- the one that I had asked multiple staff members about:(((! We would have loved to have enjoyed these amenities!!!

I always enjoy my stay at Allenberry. It’s the least expensive, cleanest, most modern, quiet, pleasant place you can get at such a low price. I especially like that the restaurant is located a minute (walking) from my room. Staff was pleasant. People staying also pleasant (no ghetto people messing anything).

We enjoyed the overall setting of the resort — the environment is beautiful and peaceful. However, we did experience several inconveniences during our stay. We arrived at night, and the front desk simply handed us a map and asked us to drive to our building by ourselves. The property is very large, and the buildings are scattered. It was completely dark, and the signs were not easy to see. We drove around for 20–30 minutes, passed by the wrong building twice, and eventually had to drive back to the front desk. Only then did the staff guide us to the room. Given the layout of the resort and our late arrival, we believe the front desk could have offered to lead us there from the beginning, which would have saved a lot of time and frustration. The room itself was clean, but there were some amenities missing that are usually standard in most hotels: no refrigerator, no security box, and not even a phone in the room. We understand that every property is different, but it was a bit inconvenient. Our biggest concern was the check-in and check-out policy. The check-in time is 4:00 PM, and the check-out time is as early as 10:00 AM. We asked if we could check out at 11:00 AM instead, but were told there would be an additional $50 charge. In all the hotels we’ve stayed in, even with an early check-out time, the front desk usually offers one complimentary hour when possible. A late check-in combined with a very early check-out, plus charging an extra fee for just one hour.

Ok but noisy, get a 2nd floor room

Clean and nice room. But bottom floor was really noisy as the flooring and plumbing can be heard from upper room. And the maid came in and woke us up again after the guest departed. Get a 2nd floor room

Allenberry brought the cozy, local, family style living to this resort. We enjoyed everything, esp. the fly fishing. What a find. Activities are in abundance and sometimes unique, like the Playhouse. We missed the spa but liked the sauna, hot tub, pickleball, fire pits, dining, and more. This was a fishing weekend, but next time, we will be sure to watch the availablity of special activities and plan our trip accordingly. Very relaxing spot with easy to talk to staff. We loved it.
