Perched on the hillside just above and across the road from the New River, this spacious three-story cabin puts you close to outdoor adventure while giving you plenty of reasons to stay right at home—with a private hot tub, pool table, fire pit, game room, multiple decks, and beautiful mountain scenery.

One of the highlights of staying at Hillside Heaven is easy access to the New River, one of the oldest rivers in the world. Nearby Big Hill Community Park offers river access just a short drive from the cabin, making it easy to spend spring, summer, and fall days tubing, rafting, fishing, or simply enjoying the water. Local outfitters offer tubing and rafting excursions as well as guided fishing trips on the New River and other nearby waterways.

Warm Log Cabin Charm
Step inside the main level and you're greeted by everything you hope to find in a mountain cabin: soaring vaulted ceilings, tongue-and-groove woodwork, hardwood floors, exposed beams, and a beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace. Settle into the comfortable living area for a movie on the HDTV, gather around a crackling fire on chilly mountain evenings, or simply enjoy the view through the glass doors overlooking the surrounding mountains.

Those doors open onto a spacious open-air deck where you can sip your morning coffee in the cool mountain air, enjoy an afternoon with a good book, or fire up the gas grill for dinner. Outdoor seating and dining space make the deck a natural gathering place throughout your stay.

The adjacent kitchen and dining area continue the warm cabin atmosphere with wood ceilings and exposed beams. There's room for the whole crew at mealtime, with seating for 12 guests: eight around the dining table and four more at the kitchen bar.

Also on the main level is the primary King suite, complete with an HDTV and private ensuite full bathroom.

Room to Spread Out
Head upstairs to find two inviting Queen bedrooms, each featuring vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, full closets, and direct access to a shared Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The spacious bathroom includes both a jetted tub and separate shower, giving everyone a comfortable place to unwind after a day exploring the mountains.

Downstairs is where the fun really begins. The lower-level bedroom offers two sets of Twin-over-Twin bunk beds, making it a great space for kids or younger guests, along with an ensuite full bathroom that can also be accessed from the game room.

The adjoining den and game room is ready for family tournaments and laid-back evenings with a pool table, Nintendo Switch, HDTV, gas-log fireplace, comfortable sofas, and a collection of games. Whether you're visiting on a rainy afternoon or winding down after a day on the slopes, there's plenty here to keep everyone entertained.

Hot Tub Nights & Fireside Memories
Glass doors from the lower level lead onto a covered deck featuring one of the cabin's most popular amenities: the private hot tub. Sink into the warm water after hiking, skiing, rafting, or sightseeing and enjoy the peaceful mountain setting around you.

Exterior steps lead down to the yard and the newly updated wood-burning fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows, telling stories, and lingering outside beneath the mountain sky.

Hillside Heaven also offers central heat and air conditioning, WiFi, a washer and dryer, TVs and a DVD player, two fireplaces, a gas grill, and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces where your group can gather or spread out.

Adventure in Every Season
When you're ready to explore, Hillside Heaven makes a convenient home base for many of the High Country's favorite destinations. Downtown Boone is only about 8 miles away, while Blowing Rock is approximately 15 miles from the cabin. Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian Ski Mountain are conveniently located between the two towns.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 10 miles away, putting scenic drives, hiking trails, overlooks, and picnics within easy reach. Valle Crucis, home to the original Mast General Store and beautiful riverfront Valle Crucis Community Park, is about 16 miles away, while Grandfather Mountain is approximately 20 miles away. Winter brings even more adventure, with Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zipline about 21 miles away, Sugar Mountain Resort approximately 25 miles away, and Beech Mountain Resort around 30 miles away.

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- PET FRIENDLY! Mature, well-trained dogs only. Pet fee $25/nt per pet (max of 4 dogs)
- Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
