PLEASE SEE PHOTOS — SERIOUS HEALTH & CLEANLINESS CONCERNS. Unfortunately, this became a very difficult stay for my family. We initially booked 2 NTS because the villa was conveniently located near our family. We noticed cleanliness issues & cockroaches upon arrival, but being from Fiji ourselves, we understand insects can occasionally enter homes. We mentioned it to our host, Felix, and were willing to work with him. He offered us a discount, so we extended for 3 add’l nights. The following night, several of our group of 7 developed what we initially thought were mosquito bites. They became increasingly severe, and we then discovered what appears to be a bed bug in the villa. The bites were extremely uncomfortable, and one family member became ill. We immediately notified Felix. He sent someone to clean the bedrooms and change the bedding, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the problem continued, and we later discovered the insects appeared to be coming from the sofa/common area rather than simply the beds. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying and requested a refund for our final 2 nights. Felix declined, stating that he had offered to relocate us to another property approximately 1 hour away from the family we came to visit. I understand problems can happen at any property. My concern is how serious this became for our family and that we were still charged for nights we did not feel safe staying. Please review photos carefully before booking.
