I saw the view and wanted to stay.
I saw an image on your website, the view was splendid. We’d not travelled to Venasque before, we’ve been travelling to Provence from the late ‘80’s and we wanted to be in a certain amount of solitude and we didn’t want to eat out. This house was ideal and the house is reasonably untouched by tour coaches. Very few shops but all you really need, especially since you’ll be buying local produce whilst you’re out.
The house was more than sufficiently capacious for two people, having four bedrooms. Beautifully appointed and I made note of a couple of design ideas.
The styling is eclectic but exceptionally suited to the property. It was good to see the many different colours, textures and designs..particularly rich vibrant colour because as my friend…a creative brand leader…says ‘life is too short to live in dull spaces’.
It was an enjoyable stay and breakfast on the balcony, with bread and croissants from the bakery close by is entirely a joy.
We left a spoon there, not expensive, that belongs to my friend in Haute Savoie, so that took some explaining. We also broke a tumbler. Which was also embarrassing.
One final thing. Make a trip to Nyons if you can and visit La Scoutainerie coir mat factory and museum. Avoid Fontaine de Vaucluse it’s a bit tired and lacking in decent cafes, go to Isle sur La Sorgue instead visit the museum and park, eat or drink by the river and enjoy life…or you could just sit on the balcony and enjoy the views towards Mont Ventoux.
