Embrace the rustic charm of the interiors, throw open the terrace doors to let the natural soundtrack of birdsong and rustling leaves flow in, or curl up beside the log burner for a cosy evening indoors.
For the perfect end to your day, sink into the private outdoor hot tub and enjoy the starlit skies above one of the darkest parts of the Dark Skies Reserve.
Handcrafted by local artisans using premium oak, The Mallard combines timeless craftsmanship with modern comfort. Inside, you’ll find a welcoming and thoughtfully arranged space, including a comfortable king-sized bed, a hand-made oak dining table with seating for two, and a bespoke fitted kitchen with a traditional farmhouse-style dresser and Belfast sink. Storage options inside and out (including a handy outdoor compartment for suitcases) ensure your living space stays clutter-free.
Your morning coffee ritual is elevated by the Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, complete with a starter pack of coffee pods, allowing you to begin each day in style. The generously sized bathroom features a full-size shower cubicle, toilet, and washbasin, no compromises here. We also provide indulgent Black Pepper & Sandalwood toiletries. Soft towels are kept warm and fluffy thanks to a heated towel rail, making even the smallest comforts feel like luxuries.
Step outside into your own private paradise. Guests can wander freely to the nearby river, where a set of steppingstones leads to a secluded island glade, a perfect spot for a quiet picnic, an afternoon with a good book, or simply to breathe in the stillness of the Brecon Beacons.
The elevated deck area is ideal for alfresco relaxation, whether you’re sipping wine at sunset or just soaking in the natural beauty.
And of course, the bubbling hot tub is yours alone to enjoy. As with all our properties, it is emptied, cleaned, and refilled after each stay, so please allow up to 12 hours for it to reach the perfect temperature. For safety reasons, children under 16 and pregnant guests should refrain from using the hot tub, and we ask that all guests consult the safety information provided in the hut before use.
In addition to the scenic beauty, The Mallard also offers access to a variety of nearby footpaths across the farm’s sprawling acreage, perfect for long countryside walks and exploration.
