Not the Relaxing Getaway We Paid For
While the property is attractive, our stay was severely impacted by unresolved maintenance issues, security lapses, and an intrusive management style.1. The AC never cooled below 78F, even after several service calls, making sleep uncomfortable throughout most of the unit. We were sweating while sleeping.2. The hot tub didnât work for the first two days, and once it did, it was placed on a locked timer. 3. The dishwasher malfunctioned, emitting toxic fumes from a melted part, and was never repaired.4. The front bathroom had a persistent sewer/mold odor, only addressed with a can of Lysol.5. And most seriously, staff entered the villa without notice for a âpre-checkout inspectionâ two full days before we were scheduled to leave, while we were awayâand left the interior door unlocked. That is a violation of guest privacy and a serious safety concern.We immediately reported and addressed two minor incidents (a sherbet spill and a childâs accident), paid staff directly for cleaning, tipped them, and cleaned the areas ourselves. Despite this, we were contacted on five separate days during our 7-night stay, disrupting our vacation over minor issues that should have been handled discreetly and professionally.Weâve stayed in many luxury rentals. This was the first time we felt micromanaged, surveilled, and penalized for trying to be cooperative guests.If youâre looking for a relaxing, professionally managed experience, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere!
