I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Downtown for one night, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations given the over $200 a night price tag. The location is great, especially if you're attending an event at the Calgary Saddledome, but the service was lacking. We sat in the lounge for over 15 minutes while three staff members walked by without acknowledging us. No one even said, "Be right with you," which felt unprofessional. After expressing our frustration at the front desk, the response was underwhelming. The staff simply said, “They must be busy,” offering no apologies or assistance. Also, while they provide bottled water in the room, it's only free for members. Otherwise, it’s $2.50 a bottle, which feels pretty unreasonable for a hotel charging this much. For the price, they should either include the water or leave it out altogether. To top it off, there wasn’t enough parking for guests, so we had to use the lot across the street instead of parking in the hotel’s underground garage. Overall, this stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Property is in the heart of downtown right next to train line. A little noise filters through from this but it’s not unbearable. The location, like most large cities is a little dodgy with underhoused folk and the challenges that come with that but it’s not unusual. If you are not used to being around these populations you might feel uneasy but I didn’t have any issues. Nice to have a grocery store across the street.

This hotel has a fancy name Hilton !!! An apartment building converted to a hotel and named Hilton . Don’t let the name Hilton deceive you . This place is a complete dive When we arrived we walked beside homeless people to the front door. The snow covered sidewalk was unattended A manager was hollering at a guest at the crowed front desk area. At check in I used my credit card to hold the almost $40 a night parking charge . I paid by debit in the morning - they charged my credit card and debit card for parking . Asked for a manager to call me .. still waiting for the call March 7th. Had parked outside at check in - came back to enter underground parking - a person was urinating beside the keypad. The people giving this place a good review are more then likely paid for there reviews . Save your money and time look elsewhere. Even after writing this still waiting for that call.

Staff was friendly and rooms are good size, but I found that the hot water temperature in the showers should improve. I found it cold and when asked said it was working as normal.
