Beautiful Three Bed Detached Villa with Private Pool and Lovely Grounds

Beautiful 3 bed detached villa with private pool with lovely views to enjoy from every window located in the small town of Esperaza in the Aude Valley.

The villa has 3 double bedrooms, a spacious lounge and dining area and a garage. The pool area is well maintained and it is surrounded by lush plants and there is also a selection of olive trees and fruit trees all around the villa.

The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher and there is a washing machine in the utility room. A TV and Internet access is also provided for our guests convenience.

Esperaza has everything that you would need for your stay with a number of restaurants to choose from, a famous market each Sunday and local shops and supermarket as well as an award winning bakery to enjoy lovely croissants.

We are 35 minutes from Carcasonne and an hour and 15 minutes from Toulouse with a number of small towns, villages and small wine producers to visit along the way. The historic Rennes Le Chateau as featured in Dan Browns Da Vinci Code is very close and the Mediterranean beaches in one direction or ski-ing in the Pyrenees in the other are both an hour's drive away.

There are lovely walks along the river or cherry tree lined paths and there are also a couple of bikes in the garage for you to use to explore the charming countryside and a number of local wine producers very close by.

Belle semaine de vacances

Maison bien située et au calme. La maison est fonctionnelle et grande. La piscine est exposée au soleil le matin et jusque 16h-17h. Le jardin est beau, ombragé. De belles visites sont à faire aux alentours. La proximité de supermarchés, de lieux de visite est un plus. Rob et Kate communiquent très bien avec nous, donnent des explications détaillées et sont disponibles pour toutes questions. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour et recommandons cette location.

Belle villa dans un écrin de verdure

Agréable maison très spacieuse ( très vaste pièce à vivre et salon avec cuisine ouverte) . La terrasse est très reposante avec la vue sur l’espace piscine , très joliment paysagé . Située dans un environnement très calme , avec vue dégagée sur les montagnes . Idéale pour se ressourcer ! De nombreuses visites aux alentours car le village se trouve à la frontière de 3 départements . Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et réactifs . Nous recommandons cette location !

Séjour apaisant et dynamisant

Un très beau jardin fleuri avec une piscine très propre ( 1 personne venant la nettoyer tous les 3 jours) et une terrasse où manger (barbecue disponible). Intérieur très propre et frais, avec une décoration soignée. De belles balades à faire aux alentours; un marché et une crêperie sympathiques à Esperaza; Carcassonne et les châteaux cathares à distance raisonnable

Superbe villa avec piscine et jardin en terrasse

Très belle location, meublée avec goût entourée d'un joli jardin en espalier, très fleuri et d'une agréable piscine. Il a fait bon de s'y reposer. L'environnement est riche en visites ( châteaux Cathares, gorges sauvages, Carcassonne, ..). Nous nous sommes régalés et Je recommande vivement la villa de Kate et Rob. Merci pour ce séjour

Grande maison bien aménagée dans un beau jardin plein de charme.

La maison est spacieuse et bien aménagée. Nous avons beaucoup profité de la terrasse , de la piscine et du tres beau jardin en terrasse donnant sur les collines environnantes. Les nombreux arbres fruitiers ont fait notre délice ! L‘environnement est calme. Nous avons passé d’excellentes vacances en famille.

(Almost) perfect / (Presque) parfait

Very nice house, very spacious and really well-equiped, with a nice swimming-pool. For the rest, everything has already been said in the previous comments about the village (disappointing), the region (very interesting) and the owners (always attentive). The only negative thing is that there is no air conditioning and it was really a problem with the heat wave we endured : 28°C in the house with the shutters closed all day long... It was difficult to sleep at night. Très jolie maison, très spacieuse et vraiment bien équipée, avec une jolie piscine. Pour le reste tout a déjà été dit dans les commentaires précédents à propos du village (décevant), de la région (très intéressante) et des propriétaires (toujours à l'écoute). Le seul point négatif est l'absence de climatisation et ça a vraiment été un problème avec la canicule que nous avons subie : 28°C dans la maison avec les volets fermés toute la journée... Difficile de passer une bonne nuit.

Unser Aufenthalt in Espéraza war sehr schön, vor allem das Haus war ein toller, angenehmer Ort, um zu entspannen. Auch der Pool bietet einem die Möglichkeit zu entspannen und hat die perfekte Höhe, um z. B. Ball zu spielen. Auch die Umgebung hat uns viele Optionen geboten, der Markt in Espéraza, eine wunderschöne Natur, Kanufahren und viele kleine alte Dörfer. Insgesamt eine absolute Empfehlung!

Lovely villa in a peaceful setting

We had a lovely week long stay with the family. The villa is really well equipped, very clean and modern inside with everything you need including pool towels for all 5 of us. Plenty of sun beds too. We bbq’d most nights. Two bikes that we made good use of as well. Thoroughly recommend for a relaxing holiday. Ventured out to the day market on the Sunday morning, the evening Monday market with live music and food stalls and dinner at Chateaux le Renne which is worth a visit alone for the spectacular views. The owners Rob and Kate communicated via email swiftly and well both before and during our stay. Thank you so much.

Entspannende Wochen inmitten der Corbières

Die freundlichen Gastgeber Kate und Rob waren immer erreichbar und super engagiert, unseren Aufenthalt so schön wie möglich zu gestalten. Das schöne Ferienhaus ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet und verfügt über einen wunderschönen privaten Pool. Die Corbières sind gerade aufgrund ihrer Vielfältigkeit ein Geheimtipp zwischen Mittelmeer, Carcassonne, Toulouse und den Pyrenäen. In den heißen Sommernächten wäre eine Klimaanlage sicher ein Gewinn, da die in jedem Zimmer vorhandenen Ventilatoren nur bedingt für Kühlung sorgen können.

Nice House and owner very friendly and helpful.

Everything ok when we get there. Owner asked us some things before we arrived so everything was 100%. The house is ok and clean but kitchen could be worked on a little bit. The dishwasher broke down and in a few hours the owner arranged somebody to replace it. Brand new dishwasher installed by 2 guys. I think a little warm without airco but the two vans helped a lot!

Nice holiday home

The house was nice and clean. We had a lovely holiday, the supermarket and a bakery were nearby. A lot of things to do in the region. Rob and Kate are very easy to reach by mail, thanks for that. The only thing that would be nice is air conditioning, because it was very hot and during the night the temperature stayed warm.. but a fan brought a little bit of refreshment.

Family birthday visit to Esperaza.

The property with the swimming pool was great. Loved the garden with all the fruit trees. The views from the pool area were very good. The only down side was we had two very hot days which occurred throughout Europe at the end of our stay where we could have done with some sort of air conditioning or even some fans but we did use the pool most days to cool down.

Relaxing stay in well maintained, spacious house

We really enjoyed staying at this house. It was very clean and absolutley well maintained. Lovely garden and poolarea with nice views. Short walking to Esperaza village, where you can find a view restaurants and supermarkets, drink a beer/wine at the local pub etc. (as mentioned before:) Esperaza is quite small and does not offer too much entertainment- but we liked it! Friendly people everywhere! Dont miss the market on sundays!!! Its really a highlight. A car is needed to explore the surroundings. There is sooo much to see. The houseowner was always helpful and took very good care of our needs and questions.

Lovely welcoming house

We have just had a very happy stay at this spacious house. We are a family of 5 with three children aged 11 and younger. There was plenty of room in the house and the outside area. The pool was great - same depth the whole way which was perfect for our 5 year old. Air conditioning in the bedrooms would have been very welcome though - it was rather airless overnight. The local bakery was amazing, and the Sunday market was a highlight of the week. Other than that, the local village was not quite as vibrant as we had hoped - the main restaurant was closed the whole week. You definitely need a car to stay here - we drove everywhere. Would have been good to have more evening restaurants walkable from the house. Very good large supermarket nearby though, and we were recommended an amazing restaurant up a track road called the Poulet Bicyclette which we would also highly recommend for both adults and children. The owners were contactable the whole time, and very quick to respond to queries both whilst booking and on arrival. All in all, a very good family holiday.

Spacious villa in a good location and with lovely hillside views

Esperaza is an ideal location for discovering the quieter, more traditional south west of France - but is still within easy reach of attractions such as Carcassonne. The town itself has fabulous bakeries and a small but really interesting dinosaur museum which is well worth a morning's visit. The market on Sunday is fabulous. The villa itself is located in a fairly quiet residential road, and has fantastic views over the hills. A drive into the Pyrenees is definitely recommended! The rooms are all perfectly sized and the living area is really spacious, with a good outside seating area. Our stay was unfortunately overshadowed by an issue with the pool which meant we weren't able to use it at all. We did discover a number of good, safe swimming lakes fairly locally, where we were also able to hire pedalos. Due to the lack of pool and a number of other 'teething' issues, we are unfortunately unable to rate the villa any higher. However, the owners were were very responsive to all issues and keen to get things sorted quickly. We would therefore have no issue in recommending the villa to others - we suspect that with use of the pool, this would certainly receive 4 stars, if not 5.

Beautiful villa in a great location.

This is a beautiful villa furnished to a very high standard and owned by an English couple who are always available to you via email during your stay. The villa has a lovely pool with breathtaking views over the Aude countryside and an extensive rocky garden which snakes up the hillside. The village of Esperaza has a wonderful Sunday market and a gorgeous bakery as well as a little supermarket, restaurants, a creperie and bars. It is close to Quillan and the outstanding views of Rennes Le Chateau and handily placed for exploring Cathar country and the marvels of Carcassonne. Highly recommended!
