Good dining room and location, so-so room.

Pros: The dining room.
Cons: The rooms. Obviously, nothing can be done about the size without a major remodel. Furniture and decor could be spruced up, but not sure would help.
Location: Right on watdr. Water activities.
We stayed one night at the Hostellerie Baie Bleu in Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec. It is right on the water, which can be seen from all the rooms or better from the chairs just outside the room. Ours was on the ground level, others had balconies or a 2nd or 3rd floor outdoor walkway. The disappointment was the room --the room and bathroom were both clean but very small and indifferently furnished. We had a standard or "European" room; maybe the premium rooms were better. The staff was helpful -- when we arrived the desk clerk asked if we wanted the room plan, including dinner in the main dining room and breakfast at a bargain price. The dinner was very good (fancy, not "comfort food"). There was also a pub-restaurant, which seemed more popular than the dining room.
