Things to do:
Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a quaint little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum which features live oak-covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famous Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether itâs exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!
Explore the treasures of Carolina Beach, ranked one of the top 10 boardwalks in the country by Food & Wine magazine. One of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, it includes a variety of restaurants, an arcade, shops, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more! During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Annual off-season events include the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival.
We look forward to you visiting us!

The Neighborhood:
Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, liveâoakâlined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the islandâs two stateâmanaged coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.
After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside funâlocal restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Brittâs Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Offâseason brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every travelerâadventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.
Getting Around:
Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike â they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.
Other Things to Note:
You must be at least 25 years of age to book this property.
We really liked the place. It was spacious and nicely decorated. We did have trouble with communications when we arrived. We never received a check in text and had to call and even then had a bit of time getting our code. All in all though we really enjoyed our stay
Very nice vacation home. Beds and pillows top-notch. Kitchen pots and pans could be improved with more size variety. Only negative was lackOf blackout curtain in twin bed with trundle. We improvised with a dark bedspread found in master closet. But it would be nice to get a permanent blackout toCover window.
The condo was decorated beautifully. The king bed comfortable and condo large enough to accommodate my husband, myself, my daughter and husband and 3 year old. There were some issues however. There were no dressers to put our clothes that didn't hang in closet (although there were plenty of hangars.). There was only one key card for four adults to access the pool or beach. That and the building outlet to the beach proved very inconvenient. Talking with other guests, most had two or more keycards. Also, the indoor pool was a big draw for us to stay at that condo. The problem was that the indoor pool was disgusting and I feel unsanitary to swim in. The water was so cloudy you could not see your feet. The sides of the pool were covered with looked to be rust and the water smelled of algae. We probably won't stay there again unfortunately.
This condo was ok. The bathrooms have been renovated and were nice. There was not enough furniture in the bedrooms to put clothes away. The condo was very close to the beach and the ocean view was great. The pool didnât have tables or umbrellas if you like shade at the pool. We were close to dining and entertainment which was nice. Major complaint; only key one card to enter building and pool. This was VERY inconvenient for multi families and older kids.
It was right on the water and was decorated so cute!!! Comfortable beds and couch, perfect for sleeping in and relaxing. Lounge chair and table and chairs to eat at on the patio were great. Community pool and gym were nice, but the hot tub wasnât working.
This is a lovely 3BR condo which gave each of the 3 adults in our group their own bedroom. We settled in with our own groceries and prepared all our meals right there in the well-equipped kitchen. Would definitely stay there again!
Only the king bed was comfortable. Pleasingly decorated. All that you need was provided. Management very helpful and attentive. Helped with luggage on checkout. Older building. ADT alarm and entry lock were problems. Resolved though. Beautiful views from all rooms except bathrooms.
We will stay here again! Clean and adorable. Well stocked kitchen. Very easy to work with property management. Easy check in and out. Great views!! Only issue is that there is construction occurring in the lobby area which we were not aware of. However, we still had access to the hot tub and pools (indoor and outdoor). This just means it will be even better for our next stay. We did not hear a thing either, other than the sound of the ocean. Highly recommend!! Thank you!
We loved our stay at your place. The comfy couch made for some enjoyable family game time while we waited out the yucky weather. We were able to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub while avoiding the rain. We would certainly stay here again!
We rented this condo last year, and wanted to get it again this summer. It looks smallish when you walk in, but it was PERFECT for myself and my teen and tween boys. Great, well-stocked kitchen. Everything just works. Management company was SO responsive and helpful.
This is a great condo, with a beautiful view and very comfy everything. (Please don't rent this condo next summer, so I can get this condo again!)
We had a great time. Not a lot of stuff for the kids to do but that's what I like to just enjoy the beach. We did go mini golfing and out to eat a few times. We rode the ferry that we enjoyed. Place was really nice had everything u needed and more.
