Apt 5: Contemporary 2-Bedroom 2-Bath Steps To Sand

Beautiful newly remodeled, family-oriented, ground floor 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with brand new modern furnishings and amenities throughout. This recently renovated complex (2018) is half a block from the nicest beaches of Carpinteria and directly across from the Salt Marsh Reserve. Super quiet location, 200 yards from the sand, and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. This unit was recently furnished with high-quality contemporary leather and walnut furniture and contemporary art decor.
Carpinteria is one of the last standing little beach towns in California, essentially unchanged in over 50 years. The city is limited in growth based by its physical boarders, making the entire town only about 1 mile square. Dozens of smaller mom and pop restaurants and cute beachy shops. Its a town where you young children can walk or bicycle safely, visiting old favorite shops like Robitelle's Candy shop, Foster's Freeze, and The Spot burger joint. Then there's the beach! Protected by the Anacapa Island chain, Carpinteria is known as the World's Safest Beach. Your dogs will love it too, as the beach from our street (Ash Avenue) Northward, dogs are allowed with leashes. (If allowing dogs off-leash...be aware that the police occasionally ticket off-leash dogs and the ticket is expensive.
We're located about 10 miles from world renown Santa Barbara, and 15 miles from the city of Ventura. Looking for. some shopping? Camarillo Outlet Mall is located 30 miles to the South. Northward you find dozens of wineries, Solvang, and all directions have dozens of great golf courses. Whether you're interested in shopping, dining, kayaking, whale watching, golfing, or just relaxing on the beach, Carpinteria vacation will become a fond memory that you and your family will yearn to repeat year after year. All of Carpinteria is easily walked in about an hour. There is also a cute public trolly and bicycles to rent (mostly summer). Amtrak stops many times each day for fast easy trip to Santa Barbara and points beyond. LAX is the International airport that serves the area, about 2 hours South. The smaller Santa Barbara Airport is about 30 minutes away.

We had the BEST long weekend at Tropic Shores. Super clean, friendly host and every little detail you could ask for. For a dog friendly property, we never heard any barking and the whole complex as a whole was super quiet. Boogie boards you can use, beach chairs and towels, cleaning towelettes to get the beach tar off your feet
 they seriously thought of everything. Easy walk to the beach, next a wetland reserve. Loved it so much, we are thinking of making it an annual trip!

We have stayed in several different apartments within this complex and this one, as with all the others, was fantastic! Very clean, well stocked, and you can’t beat the location as it’s so close to the beach and walkable to downtown. The beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and tar wipes are a great bonus! The owners are always very pleasant to deal with and respond quickly to questions. We look forward to our next trip!

Love staying in this apartment with its close proximity to the beach and a fabulous view of the mountains from the outdoor garden. The accommodations are super nice with everything you could possibly need. The property is well maintained. I especially enjoyed the garden for morning coffee!!! Peaceful and Easy Access

Ewe were looking for a place close to family and events in the area. We also had a small dog to accommodate. Parking and accessible unit for elderly parents was perfect. Of course we realize the off season for the beach is a little different than summer use. The unit was so clean and all use was clearly explained. Much nicer than a hotel for the three nights we stayed. Thank you.

Great Apartment by the Sea

We really appreciated the nicely appointed apartment and were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen supplied with coffee, sugar, salt/pepper, saran wrap, foil and ziplock baggies. Although we didn’t cook because of the brevity of our trip, these supplies would have made cooking and clean up easier. We were also happy with the size if the apartment and that it allowed our small dogs to stay. Great hosts!

Love love loved our apartment in Carpenteria! Tropical shores is amazing and beautiful. Perfect location especially if you’re bringing pets, a few steps from dog beach and really clean and nice. The only thing I would change is a more comfortable bed.

wonderful in every way

Great location, clean, wonderfully decorated. Host was awesome. So nice to have a place dedicated to families who want to stay a few days or a week and not have to stay in a hotel. So much of Carpenteria in past years was for families wanting a week at the beach. Those places have since been converted to condos and are owner occupied or leased monthly. Not Tropic Shores. The family has a goal of providing weekly rentals to families, like it used to be. And they provide it in a fantastic way. You are literally less than a two minute walk to the waves. Wonderful place.

My family had a great stay at Elena’s place. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Elena was so responsive and kind before, during and even after our stay. We loved hanging out in the courtyard. The location cannot be beat! We’ll definitely return.

In 2021, we stopped in Carpinteria rather serendipitously on a return trip from Seattle. We loved the place, but only had a half-day and one night. Still, we liked it enough that we booked for 10 days this year and had the best time. The condo was well stocked and had plenty of space for the two of us (we both work part-time from home). We thought the beds were comfortable and we always appreciate fun artwork. The setting was wonderful, too. The courtyard made it feel different than a motel and provided easy access to the parking, washer/dryer and trash. Effortless. The shrubs are a nice touch and our dog agreed after checking every one of them. The two units next to us were rented by a group of 8 or 9 vacationers who were having a lot of fun. But
 their noise was not bad at all. And, what we heard was ‘happy noise’. Not yelling or screaming but just fun laughter. I don’t get tired of that. That’s the condo
 The town of Carpinteria is just too good. It is a 60s beach town that in some ways doesn’t know it’s a half a century later. It has been updated with modern grocery stores, a beach boardwalk and EV charging options, but it’s STILL 60s in other ways, i.e., the hamburger place just a few blocks away – The Spot. In Carpinteria, you can walk forever or drive somewhere in five minutes. We will return!

We really enjoyed this property. Excellent location for beach access, and the beach is terrific. Extremely clean and contemporary, comfortable apartment; beautiful building landscaping was an unexpected pleasant surprise. Carpenteria is a wonderfully laid-back small town easily accessible to more action if that's your thing. Owner was very helpful and made the stay super-easy. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

NOT dog friendly. Instantly discriminated against because of our dog. Heard little dogs barking all night. Walls paper thin. Was there on a business trip that didn’t end up going through, had to cancel and they got to just pocket 7k ..no offer of credits or anything. Very poor customer service. They state back parking for overflow but there are 5 parking spots which is not noted and it’s so narrow, we scratched the bumper of our truck trying to get out. It’s ridiculous, you can’t even park near your unit due to over crowding. They have noted if your WiFi goes out to just use the neighbors. Never heard anything like that before. Beds are hard as a rock and the two other beds are too small for a grown man, which is not stated in the description. We were instantly approached upon arrival because of our dog even though they were aware we were bringing him. The property manager is a nasty woman and very hateful. They pretty much told us other people’s kids could run in our unit or others animals if we left our door open, even though all dogs are supposed to be on leash. There is an on leash dog friendly beach near but they have a note in the unit stating you can take them off leash just watch out for the police, which I thought was negligent. Highly do NOT recommend this place unless you are a single adult and plan on never being there.
