Staying in a hotel in the mountains above Chamonix, accessible only by a quaint train (30 minutes) where you can go on incredible hikes or just relax on the patio and stare at the glorious mountains... well, it doesn't get better than that. Everyone on the staff was attentive and nice, and the family room was perfect for my husband, myself, and our teenage daughter (who got her own space). We loved it!!

A historical hotel with excellent food. Love the hotel dogs( love to play stick) and the feline friend in the dinning area. The view from the room are wow. Would i be back? Yes.

Our stay at Montenvers was great. The hotel appearred lovingly restored to it's original glory. It was a realitively easy and comfortable way to immerse in some of the most beautiful mtns in the world. The food was very good. The views from our room of the glacier and mtns were fantastic.

Un cadre exceptionnel, mais l’expĂ©rience ne suit pas. Nous habitons Ă  Chamonix et nous Ă©tions ravis de sĂ©journer enfin au Montenvers - le site est spectaculaire et le dĂźner Ă©tait vraiment bon. Cependant, pour le prix payĂ©, l’expĂ©rience globale nous a déçus. L’intĂ©rieur a besoin d’un vrai coup de neuf. L’espace bar souffre d’un Ă©clairage peu flatteur et manque cruellement de chaleur et de convivialitĂ© - une occasion manquĂ©e vu le cadre montagnard exceptionnel. Les chambres sont basiques, voire dĂ©cevantes pour ce niveau de prix. Le plus frustrant : aucune communication sur les horaires du train. MĂȘme en tant que locaux, on a trouvĂ© ça confus - on imagine Ă  peine la difficultĂ© pour les visiteurs qui dĂ©pendent du train comme seul moyen d’accĂšs en hiver. Il y a un superbe hĂŽtel qui ne demande qu’à Ă©merger ici. Le potentiel est lĂ  - le site fait dĂ©jĂ  une grande partie du travail. Mais il faut investir dans les intĂ©rieurs pour crĂ©er le refuge alpin chaleureux qu’il pourrait ĂȘtre, et repenser complĂštement la communication et le service client. Pour l’instant, l’établissement se repose sur la vue.
