The Neighborhood: "Cannonborough-Elliotborough draws young professionals and students from nearby colleges to its restored, wood-fronted houses. King, Cannon, and Spring streets, running through the leafy area, are dotted with indie boutiques, vintage stores, and bakeries. Trendy eateries serve up everything from comforting Southern fare to Mediterranean cuisine, and Upper King Street has hip bars for craft beer and house cocktails." Getting Around: We suggest riding bikes or walking to get around the city but you get always call an Uber or Lyft if you prefer. Charleston is a skinny peninsula and can feel cramped driving and parking but that is an option as well. Parking in Residential areas is limited to 2 hours on weekdays but there are Parking lots and garages all over. If parking more than one car, explore your options.
Other Things to Note: Our home is in the heart of the Charleston peninsula with a local grocery mart just steps away from a small grocers that provides local food products. Great beer selection at Charlieâs Grocers across the street on Spring St. We are also only a 19 min 9 mile drive to Sullivans Island and a 26 min 11 mile drive to Folly Beach. The Author Ravenel Junior Bridge is only 2.5 miles and is a beautiful bike or walk to see the city from across the harbor. The tip of the peninsula, The Battery is only 2 miles away. Just think of this as a helpful start for a guest who has never been here and may feel a little lost!
Interaction with Guests: We are available to answer questions and help guests as best we can. We enjoy guests who are self sufficient and adventurous. We are close by if needed but we stay out of the way.
Coffee shop just around the corner as well as several restaurants and other places to grab an adult beverage. We especially enjoyed the bicycles made available; toured all of downtown Charleston on them!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Cozy Art Villa. It looked exactly like the pictures and it was in a a perfect location. It was an easy walk to numerous restaurants, bars and King Street. Bad bunnies coffee was a daily ritual, but the Villa had coffee as well. I highly recommend staying here if you want to be close enough to the main, touristy area of Charleston, but not in the thick of it. I do recommend a sound machine to drown out some noise if you are a light sleeper.
Stayed for long w/e at this perfectly situated home. Everything was thought of from the cozy bed, extra towels, bikes plus helmets, snacks, beach towels, umbrellas, storage, parking, and bottles of drinking water. We walked to King Street, which is just a few blocks away or rode. This place has the location and comfort!
The house was very well kept, it was in a great location, close to attractions, some within walking distance others required a short drive. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We greatly enjoyed the stay. The apartment was exactly as build, and there was a very nice welcome binder. We really enjoyed the opportunity to go bike riding on the bikes provided.
What you see is what you get. Clean, cozy and great price. Located in perfect spot. A block or two from King st and far enough for peace and quiet. Host provided spots to check out (food, drinks, sightseeing) and if you donât feel like walking, host even provides bicycles to explore town.
