Quarters on Vendue - Two Bedroom Suite - Steps to the Market, Pineapple Fountain

Summary:
This historic building from the 1800s was renovated in 2016 with new interiors decorated with the highest of standards and modern conveniences. Flat screen TVs are in both bedrooms and the living area, along with original artwork. With our comfortable living rooms and kitchens, these condos make you feel like you’re in your home away from home--not just in a hotel room. Please note that this property does not have an elevator and rooms start on the 2nd floor. Because we are such a small building, we do not have parking and refer our guests to the parking garage located one block away. If you're traveling with a larger group, we have two, 2-bedroom condos and a 1-bedroom loft in this building - perfect for a group of 10.

The Space:
This historic suite sleeps up to four with two king-sized beds. Our decorator's touch gives both bedrooms classic comfort with brand new hardwood floors, as well as handsome furniture and beds dressed with high-end linens. In the fully-appointed kitchen, stainless-steel appliances and a broad, natural stone counter-top create an ideal space for cooking, entertaining, and dining. Two full bathrooms have stone vanities and feature modern showers with both overhead and hand-held sprayers.

Guest Access:
Check in time is 3 PM. Check out time is 11 AM. All doors unlock with a unique access code, so arrival after hours is no problem! Our rooms do require guest to climb stairs.

The Neighborhood:
If you have never been to Charleston, this location is ideal! Located centrally at 30 Vendue Street (cross streets are Vendue Range and East Bay Street) it is near Waterfront Park and other prime destinations including the historic market, King Street shopping, the Battery, and numerous art galleries. Gentry Hotel is just steps away from numerous fantastic restaurants including High Cotton, Magnolias and Blossom.

Great location

The location of this suite is great! It is a short walk to the market, restaurants, shopping, and historical sites. It was a little smaller than what we were expecting. We went in a group of 4 adults and it was a little tight for all of us to sit in the living room all at one time. However, having 2 king beds, 2 full bathrooms, and a great location made up for the small living space. Just be aware that there is limited couch space for relaxing if you go in a group of 4 adults. The rental company had great customer service. There was some confusion and we were told there was amenity in the apartment that was not there. The rental company went above and beyond to make up for the miscommunication and we were very greatful for that.

It was okay….

The place itself is very small but nice and in a great location, close to restaurants and parks. The WiFi was poor, and non-existent much of the time. There were a few maintenance issues that needed attention, then a roach showed up one night! As the manager said, the rain probably brought it out, but it was unwelcome!

The property is well appointed and nicely decorated. It is smaller than it appears in the photos but had everything that was advertised. My problem was the musty smell that triggered my allergies. The smell lingered in all the clothes I brought and had to be washed even though I didn’t wear them all. Great location, but can’t stay there again due to mold.

Property is in an excellent location. Definitelyneed to be able to climb stairs. Very clean and comfortable but only one coffee pod??? for two people? My suggestion…at least 4 pods for two guests each night…Eight for 4 guests each night. Cheap fix for that “famous Charleston hospitality.” Luckily I had read reviews and noted coffee was lacking so brought extra. But I was driving not flying. All in all my friend from France and I had a VERY convenient and comfortable stay and would book again.

Very quiet area of town-that is a plus. Small issues-the kitchen trash had not been emptied form the previous occupant, the toilet paper holders were rusty (not a good look/cheap to replace), the doors to the back bedroom and the back bedroom bathroom both squeaked loudly ( a simple fix) , 2 ply toilet paper is much more preferable than the one ply supplied, the faucet in the back bathroom leaks and no towel bars. We had to put our towels over the backs of the sofas and beds. Otherwise, it is a good, walkable area close to so much of Charleston. We recommend it and may stay again in the future.

Great location, not great sleep

We loved the location of our stay and the property management team was very helpful. The only downside was the mattresses were very soft and uncomfortable- they seemed in need of new ones and sheets that fit the beds because ours kept coming off. But other than new linens, we had no issues and would recommend.

Property was in a good location walking distance to a lot of places. Place definitely was a lot smaller than it appeared in the pictures. Hurricane Debby was rolling in on Charleston and we asked for the ability to stay another night because streets were flooding and we had almost no ability to evacuate and were told the place was not available for us to stay in an emergency despite a literal shut down of the city. No emergency supplies available at the place. No flashlights, etc.

Wonderful unit in the perfect location!

This cute 2 bed/2 bath unit was perfect and exactly as described. Our girl's trip hit the jackpot with this place. The location was superb and walkable to everything downtown. Two small maintenance issues were communicated and worked through immediately upon us notifying them. We plan on returning next year! Book it! You won't regret it. The only thing to know is there are three flights of stairs. If you have an injury or an elder, that could be a deterant. It didn't bother us one bit, though!

Great location in Charleston!

The location of this condo in Charleston is perfect for getting around the city, shopping, restaurants and sight-seeing. It is clean and the kitchen well stocked. The interior is slightly claustrophobic...windows look out on brick walls, no natural light to speak of. But, if you need two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms as we did...it fits the bill. The management was very kind and returned a nightie I left in my room! That kind of follow through is surprisingly rare these days.

Location was perfect for site seeing, shopping, restaurants and within walking distance of the College of Charleston. We were able to accommodate two couples with separate bedrooms and an additional unexpected guest with a pull-out sleeper. Tighter quarters than expected, but we didn't plan to spend more time than necessary in suite. Only downside was windows with no view., except side of buildings.

Great location; moldy room

Background: We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. Review: Pros: Location: Close to coffee shops, restaurants, and the boardwalk. Parking: Convenient garage nearby. Personal Touch: Nice birthday note for my wife. Cons: Mold: The room had a dank smell. We found mold on vents and light fixtures, and rotted wood in the bathroom. My wife, who has asthma, experienced an asthma attack, forcing us to leave early. There was a dehumidifier that needed frequent emptying, which wasn't mentioned in the listing. Housekeeping: The room was dusty and stained. The fan and turtles in the bedrooms were particularly dusty. The refrigerator's water filter hadn't been changed. Despite reporting it, I'm unsure if it will be addressed. The listing promised coffee, but there was only one K-cup. Internet Connection: The internet was spotty, and cell service was unreliable. We could only connect to Wi-Fi at the front of the suite. TL;DR: Great location but moldy room. Avoid staying here unless you don't plan to spend much time in the room. Consider staying elsewhere and parking nearby to enjoy the location. Nearby Activities: Water taxi, fountains, and eateries nearby.
