Outstanding in every way. Service better than in the Four Seasons, Montage, etc. They even proactively made us snack bags for a day out! Jim is the absolute best. Bar is great too! Don’t miss the Silence of the Yams cocktail. Sounds weird, but is so fantastic we went back twice! Very well balanced and not overly sweet.

The service was perfect. I truly enjoyed this hotel and its location. The butlers were more than helpful and the front staff was pleasant and so accommodating. The bar was fun and the man who runs it is such a pleasant and skilled drink maker. Loved this trip.

From the moment we arrived until we departed, the staff and service were impeccable. Every extra detail made to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable was greatly appreciated. The bed was extremely comfortable! Having a complimentary mini-bar was very nice after a long day of touring Charleston. Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience.

Public rooms are very impressive with lots of marble and comfotable seating. Staff at the front desk is super nice and helpful. Breakfast is well stocked with good hours. Parking was free, which was a nice perk. The location is convenient to Plaza Independecia which is a great public space to visit. Good restaurant selection nearby and it all feels very safe. To get into your room requires downloading an app. There are no room keys. Communicating with the hotel staff is easiest using WhatsApp. The room was pretty bare bones for $250 a night. Towels were thin and did not include washcloths. Getting fresh towels was not easy. No Kleenex in the room except a tiny 3-tissue pack that was not replaced after we used the first one on Day 1. I couldn't get an iron brought to the room. Only option was to pay for the staff to press my clothes. I never did find the price schedule for that and just went out wrinkled. Pillows were very hard and uncomfortable but the bed was fine and the linens were decent and clean. This hotel was overall adequate and clean, which is my top priority. Public spaces are luxurious but the standard rooms aren't anything special. Elevators are super fast which was really nice as we have stayed at far more expensive places that had terrible elevator service. This seems like a convention hotel with lots of groups staying here.

This “boutique” hotel was spectacular, all around! The staff went out of their way on so many levels. Immaculate room, over-the-top amenities, concierge was great, and with a great location . . . Book it!

Great location, service and hotel. This was our first time in Charleston and I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting town. The hotel decor is welcoming and the rooms are very clean. The standout was the personalized service and attention to detail the staff made during each interaction. Standouts were the reception with Wade and breakfast service in the bar with Darrel! Thank you for making us feel so welcomed.

Our first time to Charleston and loved our stay at The Spectator. The staff is excellent here and the room and bath were large and stocked with complimentary extras daily from snacks to coffee and soft drinks you don't see in high end hotels or most anywhere for that matter. The bar is lively and fun for that nightcap.

Very impressed with the Southern hospitality at The Spectator hotel. Our butler Jim was very attentive to detail and our needs. He was always willing to assist and recommend. The staff and other butlers were very hospitable and welcoming. The hotel was close to the Market and various scenic sites and restaurants in the area. The 20's cocktail bar was always the place to be to have a drink before your night out !!!! Thank you Spectator Team !!!!
