Nice pub, nice bathroom. 4 poster bed small double with 4 wooden posts. Mattress well used/flat, small TV high on shelf could not see. Room 24 facing brick wall, water all over the floor when using shower. Loading bay outside hotel, noise from delivery trucks from 5.50 am.

It's very convenient in the centre of Chester to access the old part of the city.The cathedral was particularly good

Lovely place and full of quirks - some are charming and make you giggle (stairs and plumbing arrangements), others not so (noise from the bar in a first floor room and ). Glad we stayed and the food was good.

Great Price and Location.

Positives: Amazing Location in the city centre. Great food options nearby. Clean spacious room. Negatives: Shower was very low. Evening meal wasn’t that great.

A great stay in a great atmospheric inn. Really central for all the sites. A wee bit noisey in the early morning from deliveries to local businesses but not unexpected for somewhere so central in a pedestrian zone.

Loud noise no sleep!

Had very bad night sleep very loud vibration behind the bed in the wall , we looked to see whether there was a switch to turn off air conditioning system that we hadn’t noticed ( was still awake at 2:50) there wasn’t. We told the manager )?) in the morning he said Yes I noticed this morning someone hadn’t turned off the fans which make a very loud noise in room 3. Sorry. Well that didn’t make up for the fact we hadn’t had any sleep!!!!!! Shame as the lady behind the bar jolly pleasant as was the young lady serving breakfast in the morning. We wouldn’t sadly recommend the pied bull as we had any sleep !!!!
